Cupcake picks too tall

Ginger, on June 19, 2019 at 7:04 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 6
I bought some cute toothpick style cupcake toppers and a display tower on Amazon for our reception. However, the toothpicks are too long. I’m worried about trimming them and then they splinter. Has anyone done this or have suggestions? TIA

Can you cut it from the other end? Like not the one where it spikes into the cupcake but the other end where it has LOVE and just tape the LOVE back on?

The tape would show through but the word was hot glued on so I think that might work.

    Hi Ginger!

    These are so cute!

Melle’s suggestion sounds like a good resolution!

Alternatively, you could get new, shorter toothpicks, remove the love, and hot glue it on to those! It could save you time cutting the original toothpicks to size!

Let us know how it goes Smiley smile

    How many are you using?

You can cut them and then use a mechanical pencil sharpener to get it smooth and pointy again.

We have 120. Coincidentally, a friend just bought a cupcake stand and had no idea about the situation. She offered to let us borrow it and it isn’t a tower so it will work perfectly!
