Cupcake Brides, how many cupcakes are you did your order per person? What is a fair price to expect when getting quotes from bakers? In my area we have some pretty renowned bakeries (winners from Cupcake Wars, Georgetown Cupcake, etc.) and their prices are all over the board. Do you have any tips...

We did cupcakes. My MIL paid for them and she said that most likely since we were having two different flavors, one choose by me and one choose by my DH, that some people would try both flavors so we wanted to have more than enough.

We went with roughly 2 per person, and we had a small bride and groom's cake. It was way too much cake. And we did have boxes for people to take home cupcakes but not many people did, even though the cupcakes were delicious! We had so much left over!

Ours cost $2.75 per cupcake and they were specially designed.

Our caterer is providing them.. I think they are about $3 for 2.. we're ordering 2 for each guest so $180 + $35 for our ceremonial cake.

I'd order 1 per guest. Not all guests will eat them, but a few will eat 2. As far as price, that's like asking the price of shoes. You can go cheap, or you can go expensive. Flavors, and decorations (fondant decor or colored icing) will add to your price. Price a few places local to you, and taste test them. Then, go from there.

I would do 1 per guest. When I went on my cake tasting, it was more to order cupcakes.

We are doing one per person and a small cake to cut into and share with the head table. The small cake is $65 and the cupcakes are $3 each.

Hey Shileta, we are getting our cupcakes from Cakes Plus in Laurel, their prices start @ $1.20 & up and the cupcakes are delish!!! Check them out. Right now I have 75 ordered but will order about 60 more to be safe. I am having a small round cake on top and a grooms cake that can feed about 20-25 ppl. I'd rather have a little extra and if we get to take some home "Yummy to my Tummy"!!! LOL! But seriously, I like Cakes Plus!

I've got about 105 guests, but I ordered them as centerpieces and each table requires 13 cupcakes to make a centerpiece, so I had to order 169 as I'll have 13 tables. However, I just rounded up to 200 because I know there are kids and take-home boxes. Total cupcake cost was $133.50.
