Hi all - I'm struggling with finding a make up artist that is affordable (most include airbrushing and lashes in their pricing, neither of which I want, but there doesn't seem to be a lower cost for not doing those), and a lot that I've looked at have 3 or 4 person minimums - there's only 2 of us. Has anyone found someone in CT (Hartford area) that they would recommend? I suppose I could just practice doing my own for the next 10 months :/

There's a Sephora but I can't stand them. They never get my color right. I'll look up Ulta. There's one near my old job (30min drive) but there might be one closer. Thanks!

I would suggest going to MAC Cosmetics or Sephora. I want to say that Matt is about maybe $50 or you have to spend $50 worth of product for them to do your makeup. My friend went for her vow renewal and she liked it. Sephora is the same where if you purchased $50 worth of supplies they do your makeup for you.

I would suggest writing a generic email including what you're looking for and send it to a ton of makeup artists via the WeddingWire vendor directory - Hartford Wedding Hair & Makeup. You can then wait for pricing to come in. It may save you a ton of time
Have you booked your hairstylist yet? If so, he/she may have some recommendations also!

Have you tried instagram? Thats how I've been finding local vendors. I searched a couple of #ctbridal, #ctmua, #ctbride. Lots of make up artist pop up, you may have to dig through to find one you like that is also within your budget. What is your budget?

Hi! I found my hair and makeup gal through Instagram and on here - her name is Dana and her business is Dana Joy Beauty - she is out of New Haven!!! Not only is she the sweetest but she is affordable and does a great job! Check her out!
