so in NJ now the weather needs therapy and some chocolate (or a hug, IDK)... Its gone from 43 to 94 to 59 in a matter of a week and the day of my wedding has an early forcast of 75 and sunny (fingers crossed and prayer said that this is indeed how it goes) Anyway, I was at the seamstress's on friday...

So in NJ now the weather needs therapy and some chocolate (or a hug, IDK)... Its gone from 43 to 94 to 59 in a matter of a week and the day of my wedding has an early forcast of 75 and sunny (fingers crossed and prayer said that this is indeed how it goes)

Anyway, I was at the seamstress's on friday when it was 92 degrees and she had the AC on full blast... my dress is strapless but, between the layers of lace, satin and 3 layers of polyester petticoat, my underwear was soaked in a matter of 25 minutes. I had chosen to wear doc marten boots (an idea I still love) but this may have to be swapped for ballet flats because I cannot tolerate the heat!

Is there special underwear, lotions, linings, tip - ANYTHING you guys can recommend to stop the immense heat and presperation day of? I mean the sweat beads were rolling down by thighs and the last thing i want on my wedding night is serious chub rub.

I would bring extra briefs in case you do soak through though. Some things you just can't control like that.

This is not a super attractive solution for getting undressed later on, but I'm planning on wearing a pair of these short type things under my dress to prevent chub rub. My friend wore them for her wedding and suggested them to me. Jockey makes them - they're super thin and silky feeling. Very comfortable - I've actually been wearing them under dresses to work and they help a lot. I've attached a pic - I have the short length pair but these say cooling on them and another pair said wicking.

I would also suggest silk undies or boy shorts. If they get soaked from sweat they won't be uncomfortable and they dry very quickly. Side note: they're great for traveling too!

This was so awesome!! So true! The humidity on the east coast is insane. I don't have tips except you don't want to use a powder that will get pasty.

Get DermaDoctor meditate wipes. Online or at Sephora. Use before you use ANY lotion or deodorant. It stops sweat. No odor at all. You will not sweat. Being a big booby girl I get boob sweat. Bad. This product is great. It's pricey but for your special day it's worth the splurge. Use it anywhere. Good luck.

I second the Degree dry deodorant spray!

I wouldn't recommend any type of deodorant or powder regularly either though. As others have said here = causes cancer. As a cancer survivor I was warned to keep in mind that there are some studies that have shown that powder used regularly in that area can lead to ovarian cancer :/

I wore a pair of Nike dri for shorts under my dress. Tried the bandelettes that someone had recommended. Didn't work for me. One side was too small kept rolling up. Next size up fell down as I walked.

Huh. I never thought about this until your post, so thanks for bringing it up! I think maybe I'll just do what I do under every dress I wear in the summer and wear my spandex shorts. My FH will get a surprise when he sees them that night lol. So sexy lol.

I love Monistat anti-chafing gel. It doesn't prevent sweating but it does wonders for chub rub! I just can't believe I never knew about it until like a year ago!

Bandelettes work for preventing chub rub n are pretty cute Smiley smile

Deoderent like PP said. DB consultant tried to tell me that crenolines help keep the bride cooler...I call BS! I asked my seamstress about a hoop skirt instead. During dinner, apparently some brides with have a small fan under the table.

I wore these under my dress. They were extremely comfortable, helped with any moisture down there and kept me from chafing. Plus they were pretty inexpensive.

Also came here to mention body glide for the chub rub issue. I used it during the marathon and it lasted the entire time! It's also on Amazon as prime eligible.

    These tips are awesome.

I was thinking spanx myself but before I commit I will be looking into some of these things.

My issue with Spanx is that they're usually very tight and polyester and will make sweating more of a problem

I wore navy blue boyshorts. My dress had so many layers that no one could see them! Comfy and useful
