crotch sweat.... is a real thing... that I don't want..

Judi, on May 25, 2017 at 3:26 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 44

So in NJ now the weather needs therapy and some chocolate (or a hug, IDK)... Its gone from 43 to 94 to 59 in a matter of a week and the day of my wedding has an early forcast of 75 and sunny (fingers crossed and prayer said that this is indeed how it goes)

Anyway, I was at the seamstress's on friday when it was 92 degrees and she had the AC on full blast... my dress is strapless but, between the layers of lace, satin and 3 layers of polyester petticoat, my underwear was soaked in a matter of 25 minutes. I had chosen to wear doc marten boots (an idea I still love) but this may have to be swapped for ballet flats because I cannot tolerate the heat!

Is there special underwear, lotions, linings, tip - ANYTHING you guys can recommend to stop the immense heat and presperation day of? I mean the sweat beads were rolling down by thighs and the last thing i want on my wedding night is serious chub rub.

Use deodorant on your bikini line, baby powder (real baby powder or corn starch, nothing perfumed) can help keep your skin and sensitive bits dry, and a very thin breathable pantyliner along with cotton underwear.

Chub rub, I need a laughing emoji for that!

I have that fear as well, my dress is also strapless but it is a ball gown. I'll have to see how I do in July when I have my first alterations appointment. The petticoat is going to suck I'm sure. I hate just getting into it.

This is something I never thought about until recently and I am dreading the chub rub - my dress has lots of layers and long, bell sleeves. My wedding is in August, though it's indoors, but I'll probably be sweating balls. Following for advice.

You're not going to be just standing there. Which will make it worse- just standing makes the heat rough.

I'd personally wear cotton briefs. I'm doubtful you'll deal with it in such an extreme manner the day of outside of standing for a ceremony if it's outside. you'll probably sweat then. but then you'll be fine.

Petticoats are the WORST - why oh why do they have to make the gowns look so pretty? lol

There are thick lace "garters" you can get for your thighs that prevent them from rubbing together. I don't know how well they work, but have seen them on pinterest. Might be worth reading some reviews!

Story of my life!! Baby powder helps! I'm also wearing cotton briefs that look like volleyball shorts almost except they are longer. Hopefully trying to battle the sweat and the leg rub at the same time

Suggest corn starch over baby powder. nothing perfumed at all, esp close to the lady parts.

Deodorant stops the chub rub for me! A pad/panty liner should help reduce the sweating. Best of luck!

Highly recommend Degree Body Spray. My dress has long sleeves and was all lace. You'd think lace would be cool, but trust me, It isn't. This was definitely a life saver for us. Yes, DH used it as well. We still use it now.

Deodorant on your bikini area and monkey butt (yes that's the name) anti friction powder I think is the one my sister swears by.

Wasn't there a big to-do about women using baby powder on their vag?

I feel your thigh pain. I highly suggest compression shorts for the chub rub.

@La Grosera, you are thinking of talcum powder.

Cornstarch based powder is safe to use (the stuff you put on babies)

I think it is Monistat that makes an anti chub rub product. It works very well!

SO this is a multi-step process

1 - cotton undies - they breathe better

2 - Deodorant along your bikini line - not even joking!

3 - BodyGlide between the thighs - I don't wear skirts or shorts without this stuff! I went on a cruise and I was chafe free the entire time with that stuff

avoid baby powder with talc - causes cancer
