Cross your fingers, pray or do anything that might help!!!

CelticChick831, on October 14, 2009 at 10:21 AM Posted in Planning 0 33

So I looked at the weather again and the temp has dropped yet again. We are looking at the high 40's. But....Monday looks quite nice and sunday has warmed up a bit sooooo we are hoping that the rain and cold with push through a bit faster and make the day a bit nicer. Not to mention that I called the park and spoke with the woman who I have been working with about the barn rental. I asked what people have done in the past when this happened and well...its never happened before. She is even concerned about the temp. Because of this odd ball situation she is calling some heads of the board to see if an exception can be made for electric heaters. She feels propaine heaters might still be too much of a fire hazard but that they might allow electric and if we cover the open walls with clear plastic we might be able to make it kinda comfortable. Cross your fingers, pray, wear your pajamas inside out and backwards, whatever it takes to make one or both of these things happen.

I hope your efforts work.... just keep in mind that many times those stupid weathermen are wrong. My FH and I missed out on going to a festival because they had been calling for rain on that day all week.... turns out that day ended up being one of the most gorgeous days this month! I know everything will work out ok and your day will be beautiful

Kinda. They were pretty firm on the no heaters thing until the temp dropped again. I think me being very relaxed with them and calling them with every idea I had that wasnt covered in their "do's and dont's" hand book to make sure it was ok. I have had several people thank me for asking and not just showing up like many people do.

They added snow to my forecast for Saturday, and I'm barely three hours north of you! Little/No accumulation, but we're not even a month into fall!

Hey i got my cat doing the rain dance for you....lol....no seriously it is good that the venue is looking into how to accomodate you if the weather is bad...i think most of your guest are watching the weather also and will dress correctly. you have alot of prayers going up so i think you will not have any problems with the weather.

Crossing my fingers for you. You have done everything right by checking with the venue and letting everyone know its going to be cold hopefully the weather will do the right thing by you and be a nice day even if it is a lil cool.

Oh my CelticChick! I have my fingers crossed for you. We are definitely hurrying in to the cool weather here in MD! You are doing everything you can, so much of it is out of your hands, you'll just have to see how it goes, and trust that however it goes, it will be all right. Thankfully the venue is working with you to make it better. And as someone said in another post, your guests should have the wisdom to dress appropriately for the weather, especially if they are aware that the reception will be in a barn. And who knows, you may get lucky. It rained the morning of my wedding, and the forecast still called for more rain, but it turned out sunny, go figure! We'll be on pins and needles for you, waiting to hear how it turns out. Good luck!

Our weather changed so much the week before our wedding, I was totally freaking out. We got up, the sun was shining, around 11am, the clouds came in. It was so cold and hardly anyone showed up for the ceremony! We had very little peaks for sun during the ceremony and around 5pm the sun came out again...for about 5 min. and the clouds covered it back up. The thing that suprised me? While i was waiting to walk down, I was freezing! But the second I got to my husband, the cold didn't matter, the sun shinning or not didn't matter. I was so warm and toasty inside. All I could see was him and me and becoming husband and wife. Of course, after the ceremony all feeling came back and I once again froze! I will be praying for a beautiful day for Saturday for you. No matter what happens, though, you will be marred in the end.

Good question! Do you have a cover-up that will match your dress? Borrowing your FH's jacket only goes so far. BTW after Jessica's question I looked at your profile for the first time in a while to refresh my memory on your dress, dang girl, those "makeup" pictures are hot! ;-) I know you said you had grown your hair out, it looks great!

LOL, thanks. Laura did the photos for me. I did my makeup the same way I plan to do it for the wedding just to see how they show up in professional pics and everything looked good.

Cool! Oh, and I just checked the forecast and it says 40% chance of precip, which means 60% chance it won't! Fingers crossed for you that it gets even better than that. :-)
