Cowboy boots or no?

Ashley, on July 28, 2016 at 3:33 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 73

I have always wanted to wear cowboy boots at my wedding but not sure how they would look now that I bought my dress. I definitely do not want heels though because it is outdoors in grass...

It's about what makes you feel comfortable but the right cowboy boot can go with any dress in my opinion

I think its totally preference. Your dress is beautiful and would pair nicely with a wedge. If you wanted to do boots, I think it would work with your dress because of the exposed tulle.

I have white cowboy boots that are actually really expensive - maybe a white pair would work with that dress! I've always wanted to wear them to my wedding too, but my wedding is black tie :/ so please live my dream and wear them!

It's your call, but I personally would say no. It's overdone for me at this point.

I agree with Mrs. Sasswood. Very overdone. But if it's something you've always wanted go for it.

Personally I've never been a fan of the cowboy boots with a wedding/bridesmaid dress look. I'd just wear a pair of flats and call it a day. You're not even going to see your shoes in that dress so I'm not sure what difference it makes.

I'm also not a fan. Agree with Kelly as well, you won't be able to see your shoes.

Ok, I think I agree on no boots. Guess I get to go shopping for some new shoes!

I understand people saying it is overdone, but I still find it perfectly acceptable especially if this is part of your regular attire. Like myself, I wear my boots on a daily basis and so I will be wearing them to my wedding because that is what I am comfortable in (Also, we will be country swing dancing). I think it will be fine with your dress, The dress is long and will be hard to see. I know that with my dress you can't even see them when I am walking, so maybe try it on with the boots and walk around to see if it is a problem or not.

Personally? I wish that trend would die already. BUT it's your day so wear boots if you want to wear boots. Echoing a couple of PP though in saying you won't even be able to see them if you do or don't.

ETA your dress is really pretty btw!! and fits you beautifully!

I mean no offense to anyone when I say that I really really dislike the cowboy boot style. Like other PP have said; its way too over done. I get it if you really like the style but it's just not my cup of tea. I think this dress would look amazing with some cute flats!

ETA: I dislike the cowboy boot trend AND i'm having a barn wedding Smiley tongue I personally love our venue and have yet to attend a barn style wedding so we are excited. Everyone around here that we know gets married at golf courses.

Even if I loved cowboy boots with dresses I don't think it would flatter your particular dress - which is gorgeous by the way!

@Paulsons - Though I don't agree with the boots thing, cause I love them and that's what I wear regularly as do most of my friends and family, I do agree with the rustic wedding train-- I'm not on it, not a fan, it's way overdone. I don't want any burlap or chalkboards. When I first started planning my mom was like "Oh, do you want rustic?" -Uhh, No, I shut that down immediately!

No. Hate it. But they are your feet, not mine.

No matter my personal preference on the boots w/dress thing, I don't really think they would go with your dress, in particular. I would stick to flats or wedges...

If it's what you've always wanted, I say go for it. I'm wearing a restored pair of 20 year old Luchese boots. FH will also be wearing a pair. We are getting married outdoors in TX hill country, so it's pretty appropriate.

That's a no from me, but I always say no to cowboy boots with formal dresses.

By the way, the gown is gorgeous. It looks perfect on you.

I say no, but I also never want to see another rustic/barn themed wedding ever again. It's so overdone.

Overdone or not, some people wear cowboy boots because they are more comfortable in them so it just makes sense to wear them on their wedding day. I personally am leaning towards not wearing them because my dress is too formal looking. Otherwise I would definitely be wearing them.
