Covid changed the plan - what should i do?

Amanda, on February 12, 2021 at 5:18 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

My fiance and I were supposed to get married October 10, 2020 but we postponed due to covid.
We did send out save the dates, but as time goes on, I'm not sure that we'll even be able to invite our full list this year.

We have new save the dates, haven't sent them out yet, but if we do have to do a condensed list - do I need to send something to those who initially received a save the date for our 2020 date, but won't be receiving one for the 2021 date?

Would you be live-streaming the event? What we ended up doing is sending a letter to everyone that we couldn’t invite anymore due to covid and inviting them to the livestream instead.

I would have to check with the venue and the wifi situation, but that's not a bad idea - Did you use Zoom, or just like a private Facebook live, etc?

Actually used an app called Lovecast and used my phone on a tripod to stream it. We didn’t use wifi but cell service at the venue was good and we had no issues

What a coincidence.... we were originally 10/10/20 and post pone to 10/30/21 too!!!! 🥰🥰 We also sent save the dates for our 2020 date and now our 2021 save the dates are sitting on our desk. Our guest list included 65 people but now our venue is only able to have 25 people right now. Of course, that could change by October. But, at some point, we need to send the new information to the condensed guest list.

HOWEVER, as of last week, we began discussing the idea of tossing everything and having an intimate wedding in Hawaii with 20 people max. If we do, we’ll send the new information to the smaller guest list and everyone else will get an update that we decided to have an intimate wedding. Our current wedding is being live-streamed. But if we shift it to Hawaii, we aren’t going to live stream it and, instead, we’ll have a big one-year anniversary vow renewal celebration with our original 65 guests. Ultimately, we plan to make a decision at the beginning of March.

No, I wouldn't consider it weird. I agree with Marshaya.
