Beginner August 2020

Covid-19

My wedding is in August, my fiancé and I are u sure of what to do at this point. To continue to make payments on our venue, and lose out on more money if this all doesn’t go away. Or to cancel. I had to pick up my wedding dress alone due to the situation and it was the saddest thing. I never imagined to be planning a wedding this way😕

August is still quite a few months away. My wedding was for May but we rescheduled for September. The Covid-19 situation will not be completely be gone this year as any disease takes time to make vaccines, learn and create medicines that help to treat it properly but it should be more under control soon I would hope based on other places around the world and how people there are recovering. But it is a uncertain time and I completely understand your concern. Some brides are postponing until next year already. You should do what feels most comfortable for you.

Our wedding is in August as well. I didn’t even think of this yet! How are we supposed to get alterations etc, while still practicing social distancing? So sad that you had to go alone to get your dress. Never imagined planning a wedding with all this going on either. Will your bachelorette/shower be affected?

    Hi Catarina!

My wedding is in August too. I know they have rescheduled all weddings that were scheduled for March and April with no penalty. I do have to say I’m worried as well but many people are trying to reassure me. The venues need that income to stay in business and be able to host your wedding at the end of summer but I understand your concern about continuing to make payments. You should call your venue and vendors to ask them what their plan of action is right now for late summer weddings and how they are handling weddings that are scheduled for March and April. Maybe even try to find another bride and see what her experience Has been? That’s what I did
    Hope it turns out well!

Ours was scheduled for May 30th. We made the decision yesterday to postpone until next year. Too many people traveling and too many unknowns to keep it the 30th. I was heartbroken opening up the invitations that arrived yesterday 😭. Luckily my vendors have reached out and offered to reschedule. This too shall pass I suppose...

Our wedding was scheduled for April 19th in Cancun and just had to postpone my bachelorette and the wedding until end of October. It’s definitely been hard I literally never thought of this even happening but I’m trying to remain positive during these times. I guess it sounds silly to complain about your wedding but this is a very important time for us so it is heartbreaking when we were so ready to celebrate with our families and friends after planning this for so long. However this is important and the safety of everyone is priority so we must all try and remain optimistic
