Covid-19 Reception

Arlene, on June 5, 2020 at 5:45 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 3
Has anyone had their wedding reception post-covid19 yet? Just curious to see what the restrictions have been and if it’s not much of a difference. I’ve heard a few people say they’re not allowing buffets or dancing. I don’t want to postpone for a second time but would hate to have a reception with no dancing 😩

I've seen a couple of brides say that they have been told if they had their wedding dancing wouldn't be allowed. Dancing is one of my favorite parts of a wedding, but there are other fun options.

Receptions right now seem to be very small, and not a lot of dancing. People have adjusted to have intimate dinners or games.

I think it depends on where you live and your venue. I'm in Ohio and we can have weddings with up to 300 people and our venue caps at 200 anyway. Our venue called the Ohio Department of Health and they told them that they can have dancing but to encourage people to dance with the people they're sitting at their table with and that tables need to be 6 ft apart. Also, we can have a buffet but staff with masks on have to dish the food.
