Courthouse vs. Destination vs. City wedding

Jazzmin, on February 20, 2018 at 3:10 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 10
We arent into the bridesmaid and groomsmen show. And we could care less about having guest. Our small children will be our guest. Questions are: Is it better do just go to the courthouse and do a honeymoon (in Hawaii)? Get married in Hawaii and just incorporate the honeymoon? Or for family sake just do a small ceremony where we live?

This really comes down to your personal choice and your budget.

A courthouse wedding with Hawaiian honeymoon at a later date would be easier on the budget. You can invite your immediate family to the ceremony at the courthouse too and then have lunch or dinner at a nice restaurant.

Eloping in Hawaii would be more expensive but not by much. You may have to pay extra fees for the officiant, ceremony space, and any additional site fees depending on where you choose to get married. If you choose this route you could always have a celebration of marriage after you get back from the honeymoon for those you would have invited if you had planned a more traditional wedding.

Thank you. Its just hard to decide. Been going back and forth about it for a while now. I just dont want to have regrets about what Ive done at the end of it all like other couples that I know. 😳

Personally if it was me I would go to Hawaii with the kid and get married there. It will be a family affair and will be special between all of you. When you return you can throw a party, BBQ, or get together to announce your marriage.

Sounds like a good idea. I did contact a resort via email to at least get an estimate. Just trying to keep options open even though each day is critical for wedding planning.

You were able to keep things "romantic" when the children were with you? My children are 2,4 and 6 😖

My girls were 3 and 18 months. My inlaws owned 2 condos. They stayed with the girls in the 2 bedroom and we took the 1 bedroom. We did family things during the day and then had our time most nights.
