Kelsey, on January 13, 2011 at 4:53 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

My MOH is having some trouble figuring out how to word the invite for our couple's shower. Anyone have any ideas?

OK just had to tell you when i first read that I was wondering what you were inviting people too - sorry :-) I think they call it a jake and jill - and if you start with that you should be good.

FYI... "Jack and Jill" Parties are different than a "Couples Wedding Shower". At J+J parties, people pay for tickets (usually $20) to go to the party and buy raffle tickets for prizes, usually instead of bringing gifts. These parties are to help raise money for the wedding.

There could be some confusion to your guests if you use wording as "Jack & Jill", if that is not what you are intending to have.

Some people think it is tacky, but a friend of mine had one because her Fiance and her were the ones fully paying for the wedding. all our their friends and family knew that, so we were all happy to help them out, and the prizes made for a fun evening. (prizes were donated by bridesmaids and family.) They couldn't afford a huge event, so this helped them out a lot. so do what you want....its all about you two!
