Couples getting married on October 19, 2019

Annie, on August 2, 2019 at 5:11 PM Posted in Planning 1 34
Hi ladies! I see we are all getting married on the same day! I was wondering how it’s going for you all with planning? And where you decided on honeymoon? We are going somewhere right after, but still not sure where yet. Smiley smile

I’m invited to a wedding on 10/19/19 lol! I’m still waiting (and hoping) to find out if they will provide transportation since there is practically no parking at the ceremony site!
This summer feels like it flew by, October will be here before you know it! Congratulations! Hope your wedding is everything you dreamed!

Wedding planning is going good; just figuring out the last few details and trying to get as much done now as possible so I only have to do the seating chart when it gets closer.

We’re not going on a honeymoon right away, since we have the holidays, his birthday and then we take an international trip every February so we’ll make our trip our honeymoon. I am taking the week before and after off, so we can relax and I can get my name changed. We’re also staying a couple of extra days in Austin after the wedding before heading home.

    Hows your planning going?

Focus right now is finding HMUA - so expensive! I'm also bummed because our all-inclusive venue provided the cake samples and they didn't taste any better than boxed cake mix cakes. Am now trying to find out if I can (and want to pay to) bring in outside cake. Which means I'd need to start the cake process from scratch - though I guess cake tasting isn't the worst task in the world.

Question ladies! Are you doing a videographer? And if so how much was yours? I found the cheapest (in Northern California) for $1350...

I'm plugging along. Have most of the big stuff out of the way. Going to get his ring this week, same mall as the Tuxedo shop, so two birds one stone! We have to order the food, but we don't need to do that until the beginning of October. Starting to pick up liquor here and there so it's not all at once. We're going to Frankenmuth MI for our Honeymoon. It's a year round Christmas town. I have odds and ends left to plan, but i've been planning this day in my head forever

I'm over it at this point. The big stuff is done except a photographer. Me being a photographer I don't understand the over charging that's being asked for the minimal I need.
FH daughters were my bridesmaids and since she can't handle his marriage she told the girls they can't participate.
I know it's early but I still haven't gotten any rsvps.
So at this point I'm more discouraged than excited.

I've been slow in planning but it's coming together I think. I am still trying to figure out a florist, Makeup Artist, Videographer, Bridesmaid Dresses ( I do have the color picked out), and Tablecloths/Runners, and my dress wont zip up so yeah that's always fun...

We decided to skip a videographer because of the added cost, though I get video envy when I see those gorgeous produced videos. Hope it's a good decision!

50 days date twins!! Our planning is coming along. It’s just down to the smaller details of the day. Right now I’m trying to decide on if it’s worth having a makeup artist. I was originally just going to do it myself and I have my long time hair stylist do my hair. Hope everyone else is having luck with their planning!!

Hi all! Met with our officiant and had a productive decor-buying day last weekend, so I’m feeling pretty good coming into the long weekend. We mostly have accessories and music left to figure out. I found a “reasonably-priced” DOC and can’t decide whether we want to hire one at all since we are having a small wedding. Hope everyone is getting RSVPs in!

I am NOT getting the RSVPs and it is making me bananas. I am collecting RSVPs via our website only. About 1/3 of guests had already RSVP'd from the STD, but since the invite went out I've had a total of 3 RSVPs. 3!!! No declines... just radio silence. And to make me fret even more about it, one of my good friends didn't receive her invitation (and I know her address was correct). So I'm totally fretting about how many others may have gotten lost in the mail too. The due date isn't until September 30, and I know that many folks will wait until the last minute. I'm trying to be zen, but it's really hard.

I just scrolled up this thread and looked at my comment from the beginning of the month and am, at least, feeling better about my to-do list. I booked the HMUA and have my trial next week. We had a do-over tasting of actual cake slices from the bakery our venue uses (vs the mini-cupcakes that sucked) and were actually able to find a couple of options that worked. But I also feel justified in our initial feelings - even with full slices and fillings, the chocolate and lemon cakes were DRY and just super basic. Luckily the other two options were good (enough). Will it be the most amazing cake ever? No. But it will be fine - good enough that people won't be secretly disappointed. And if our reception food is as amazing at it was at the tasting, people will barely have room for cake.

We are honeymooning over the (school) holidays to Mexico. We are doing the first half in an all inclusive resort so I can get my needed downtime. Then we'll move to an airbnb with a private pool (yes!), and during that part we'll do excursions and restaurants and such.

No videographer for us. I also didn't hire a wedding photographer, but am using the photographer I hire for my work events. It will still be more than I wanted to spend, but I just couldn't see spending as much as the wedding photogs charge here. I'm not going for all of the traditional photos, I really just want the day captured. But I am having some second thoughts, since he won't know all of the wedding tricks/expectations. I'll make a shot list and then just let it go.

Right now I'm just keeping a master to-do list open on my computer so it's easy to jot down any thought I have (vs having it all swirling around in my head and keeping me up at night).

We don't have one either. We have a photographer at the Ceremony and I hired a Photographer for the Reception and a Photobooth which she will be making us a book.

I'm looking forward to it! I went once 30 years ago, but the couple I was with, my brother and his wife, got into an argument and we left almost immediately. I think we were in one store for about 10 minutes and that was it. I'm glad to get to go back

We are going on a cruise (our first) to Mexico. Its through the Norwegian cruise line so it feels more honeymooney than the carnival did.
