I would send Save the Dates out in June 2020, with two hotel blocks set up & your website fully set up for guests. As long as guests have enough heads up, they can plan for things like that. We had over half our guest list coming in from out of state, so we included a small business card insert for our main hotel block so they could book earlier if they wanted. Before our invites went out, we had 30ish rooms booked in our main block and that was great!

We were worried about this and that's why we ended up picking the weekend after, May 30, 2020!

    Hey there MaKenzie!

Welcome to the WeddingWire community Smiley smile

MrsD has provided some wonderful advice about how to reduce the impact of this on your guests.

Do you think you could send your save the dates out earlier?

Yes! Luckily I don't have that many guests that will be flying.

Yes we can send them out early! Pensacola is just such a hotspot on Memorial Weekend that I’m worried it’s going to be high no matter what Smiley sad

Ugh, yes! But that was my ideal date because me and my fiancé started dating on May 26th & I will graduate from nursing school 3 weeks before the 29th. So, we went with it. We are going to send out save the dates decently early so people can plan ahead for travel. Luckily, we have very few that will have to fly!

I’m getting married May 29th 2021 I’m not worried about the flight cost because I will let them know about the wedding about 8months before the wedding so they can have time to book their flight
