Wanted the warmest possible month during the cheapest season... that was March for Napa Valley. We wanted a Monday night because weekday hotel rates were cheaper for us & guests (as well as a weekday wedding). We chose the last Monday of March but then it got booked so we chose the 3rd Monday... March 20th, which ended up spring equinox! We liked the symbolism of fresh beginnings/birth. It rained which made our wedding day even more magical.

View Quoted Comment He wanted to do 2022 for saving purposes and a lot of his friends also have weddings coming up and we didn’t want them too close. I originally wanted August/September but didn’t want to wait a full 3 years to do August/September 2022. So we fell in love with the idea of January 27, 2022 because it will be exactly 5 years since we first met and we’ll get to the keep the same anniversary we already celebrate. It’ll be exactly 2.5 years after we got engaged and a Thursday in January is helping us keep the costs down a little.

We have a venue and photographer booked and a phone consultation with a dj today. I’ve started planning out some diy projects. I know we have a lot of time, but I’m starting a Masters program in January so I’m trying to get done what I can before that starts. Once the dj is booked I’m planning on waiting another 6 months or so until my first semester is over to start looking for some of our other venues.

Your date holds so much significance! Thank you for sharing your story! We’re actually planning to be married on the 22nd of January, but the weather and general date had a lot to do with that. I’m horrible with dates. Awful. Can’t even remember my best friend’s birthdays. I know, I’m bad😞. But, 01/22/2022 is a very easy date to remember! Also, statistically, it’s the least likely day out of the year in our area for it to rain. We understand that this isn’t absolute, but it’s important to us because we’d like to have most of our wedding outside. We also pushed the date out to save and our planning will strictly revolve around the savings.
