Couples getting married on February 15, 2020

Zaira, on August 16, 2019 at 2:39 AM Posted in Planning 2 16
Hi everyone! I realized there's only 182 days left until February 15, 2020, so exciting!! Congrats to all of you! Where in the planning process is everyone else? I just finished sending out our save the dates, dress is purchased, all inclusive (almost all inclusive) venue is booked, church is also booked, and photography/video is also booked. I feel like I am falling behind, I do need drinks/alcohol, the cake, music, invitations, my kids (flower girl &ring bearer) outfits, FH tux, accessories, and all these little details done and let alone more money 😵 Just thinking about it is stressing! Am I running behind or am I right on, on the timeline? I'd love to hear where everyone's in the process 🙂

    Hey there Zaira!

It sounds like you've done so much already. Well done Smiley smile

When thinking about everything else that needs to be done, it can get quite overwhelming. Are you utilizing a checklist as part of your planning? If not, you should check out the WeddingWire checklist tool. You can use this to check how your planning is coming along, see what should be done specific months out from your wedding date, and keep a track of your planning. It’s really helpful Smiley smile

Congrats on your Feb 15 wedding! I think you're right on track so good job!

I made a checklist of my own to go over with my FH and parents, bridesmaids, etc. I set it in 2-week increments to get all the final stuff done. So every week we go over what was and wasn't done the following week and people volunteer to get things done or look into them. Then we talk about the upcoming 2 week block to prepare. Before I did this, I was making myself crazy and doing the bulk of planning by myself. It was SUPER stressful. Now by tackling a 2-week "set list" of 5 - 10 things, wedding planning has become much more manageable. Only 8 more bi-weekly blocks to check off and then I'm married.

Most of our major stuff is done and now we're working on DIY projects. But we do need to get FH's ring ordered and finish buying booze (we've been buying a few bottles of wine and champagne every month because that was easier on our budget). I'm making fur shawls for my maids so I'm working on those in 2 week increments, too!

Breaking things down might help you to de-stress a little. And don't forget to share some of the wedding planning with others who are willing to help - it will take a big load off! Hope this helped a little!

Wow!! That is such a good idea! I am pretty picky and I think having that characteristic is stressing me out. I like things to go my way and have a certain vision in my head, so me doing it all on my own seems like a fair thing because I dont want to seem "annoying" to the others. I might have to bend my arm a bit and just use my sister, mom and fiance as help lol thank you so much! And wish you the best on your wedding day!! Congratulations!!!

We're only 92 days away guys! When are you sending out your invites? It seems tricky because of the holidays. I don't want to send them right when Christmas cards are arriving in the mail because they might get lost - and I don't want to send them after Christmas because it might be too late. We chose December 2nd but now I think that may be too early! Thoughts?

Ah!! Time is creeping up on us 😱 Cherry, you are totally right about the tricky timing to send out the invites. I will be printing mine out from shutterfly during black friday, and most likely send them out after New years (between the 2nd and 10th of January).I have sent out Save the Dates already so people already know the date, so I think 1 month ahead of time is pretty good timing.

So smart! We didn't do save the dates because most of our guests are in town or we just sent them an email. But waiting for Black Friday is so smart! We couldn't wait because we wanted to make sure we had time to send back print jobs if they were incorrect (wrong color, etc.). BUT - we are ordering our customized Thank Yous on Black Friday to get a good deal and because we know now they will match our invites. Thanks for your help!

We sent ours out last Wednesday. Most people got them Friday. Our venue suggested sending them mid-November so that they didn’t get mixed in with holiday cards. I’d say if you can’t get them out this week then December 2 sounds good.

Hayley, this was my worry! That they'll get mixed in with all the holiday stuff. I was thinking Dec 2 would be perfect, and then Saturday we received our first holiday card in the mail - I couldn't believe it! It isn't even Thanksgiving yet! I'm glad you got yours out already, that was very smart. I am so behind, I haven't even started my invitations yet. I keep thinking I'll have time and then I just don't. BUT we're 81 days away now! Gotta get a move on. Thanks for the advice!!

Omg, the day is near!!! Why is time flying by so fast?! 😭 I am stressing out just by thinking "what else do I need?" I have all the big things ready, its mostly the little details that need to get done. I do need to buy some last few drinks for the bar, pick up wedding dress & tuxedo, finish DIY signs, buy some frames for a few pictures and organize everything that I will be taking to our venue the day before. I just, really want to get everything done this weekend, that way I have a whole week to relax and get pampered. Any one else stresing out? How are you controlling it?

I have such a huge list of things to do. I want to get them all done this weekend, but now we have to go to a wake on Sunday (the best man’s mom passed away on Wednesday) so we have even less time than I was planning on. Chances are, I’ll be doing wedding stuff next week as well... wedding events start Thursday with the rehearsal! Ahhhhhh!!!!!!

Whoo! We made it! We prepared ourselves months ago that things would go wrong so when they did, there were no melt downs. I just had a glass of champagne and went about the rest of the day! Smiley xd It was beautiful and I couldn't have asked for a better day to say "I Do". I got some great advice at the rehearsal dinner the night before: That nobody would notice the little details, and if we forgot something, nobody would know it was missing but us. That was SO true! People still had fun even though we missed a few things. I still get misty eyed thinking about how wonderful our day was. It was just 3 days ago but it feels like a dream. I'm crazy anxious to get our photos back!!

How was it for the rest of you? Oh, and CONGRATULATIONS!!
