Are you finding that new years weddings are more or less than average for the vendors and venue?

Due to Covid our venue is making us cut the guest list and now a lot of our guests aren’t coming due to their fear of gatherings ( I don’t blame them) so our venue is letting us have a small ( 20 people tops) wedding there and waived the fee for next year so we can renew our vows and hopefully celebrate like we wanted to with family and friends. Anyone else postponing or downsizing?

I’m a NYE bride to! Right now our venue is saying 50% capacity and we are well above that. I’m starting to worry we should start thinking about postponing...

Currently our venue is holding weddings at 50% capacity. Unfortunately, due to travel restrictions we currently can't get to our location. We're hoping these restrictions are lifted in the next month or so. I'm starting to get nervous. We really don't want to postpone because I'm sure there are no 2021 dates left Smiley sad

What are my other NYEers doing?

We really want to post pone. Our NYE wedding was mostly just a reception for our friends and family because we wanted to celebrate with them. Now I imagine half our guests won’t come (and I totally understand) unfortunately our venue is considered “outdoor” even though it’s the middle of winter in the north east. I do love the idea of having a big “End of the worst year ever” themed wedding but if the ones we love aren’t there to celebrate what’s the point? It seems like our venue won’t budge on the issue. I’m feeling defeated. Is anyone having issues? Have you negotiated with your vendors?

Our venue location just announced that venues can now host events indoors of up to 10% of the max occupancy. Even though my venue is pretty large and I’ve already reduced my guest list in preparation, I don’t think I’d be able to fit 75. Most is family and we’re all coming from the same state where many of us get tested for COVID regularly. We have a call with our event coordinator tomorrow to discuss options and plans moving forward. Trying not to get anxious and overwhelmed but now all I can do is count down the hours until our phone call. Has anyone else definitely decided to postpone or thought of alternatives?
