I’m in Virginia and the governor announced some details about the 3 stage approach to reopening. He stated that phase 3, which would have no restrictions on large gatherings, is at least 3 months away. My FH at first was all for postponing but in hearing that he was like oh maybe we can still have it! But I’m still thinking we should postpone. We right now are waiting on our venue to give us a green light to reschedule, which they said they would decide in a month. I don’t know what to do 😩😩

Wedding twins! I hope we all still get to have our weddings! The future is so unpredictable. Has anyone been thinking of Plan B ideas? We have started creating lists if they don't allow events to be more than 50 people, were hoping for the best but preparing for the worst.

I saw a really cute bridal shower idea! Where people do a drive by / parade bridal shower! Thought that could be cute!

    Hi Everyone,

My date is also August 29, 2020 and similar to everyone else, I’m beginning to get nervous given the current situation. I’m getting married in southeastern PA, and while the western part of the state has begun opening, the southeastern portion is remaining under stay at home orders until at least June 4th. It’s difficult to take it day by day with so much unpredictability, but we are planning on moving forward with invites for 8/29/20 and will re-evaluate at the end of July/start of August...I’m trying to remain optimistic and hope that a lot will change in the next 2-3 months. If anyone else is a bride getting married in southeastern PA/Philadelphia area, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Wishing you all the happiest wedding days!!

We decided to postpone ours today as well. 😕. My Aunt who was in a nursing home passed away from Covid about two weeks ago. We have too many guests who would need to travel and we don’t want them to do so anytime soon. Having our wedding in August just wouldn’t have been the event we want. States are opening too fast with too few, if any, plans in place on how to mitigate risks. People are not thinking things through. It’s going to be a bumpy road.

Texas wedding on Aug 29th here. We are still planning on going ahead as planned, but man things are difficult. It's hard to get excited and really ready for the big day until we know everything for sure! We were supposed to see Journey in concert the night after our wedding, and that was cancelled. Then we were supposed to go to Punta Cana but now Soutwest Airlines doesn't know when they'll be flying there again. I'm trying to keep going with the flow, but MAN it's hard. Any other Texas weddings here?

The 1sr 48 hours after we postponed felt like crap. It was rough, but rationally I know it was the right thing to do. I’m still ridiculously sad, but the sadness comes and goes. Tolerable. No one around me is saying it doesn’t suck, just that it really is the best decision. We will get through this.

    Hey y'all,

We just rescheduled. We had out of town guests getting very concerned (rightfully so). We don't want to put anyone in a compromising position. Texas is getting hit bad right now. So we scheduled for August 29, 2021. We are still going to do a small ceremony on August 29, 2020, then just do the reception next year. Ug this all sucks, but it will be better in the long run. Good luck everyone.
