    Hi everyone,
Our date is 8/29 in California. Anyone doing a destination wedding where your family is in another state? We live in Chicago but my family is 90% in California, Texas, Illinois, and Alabama. We planned for 50 but now anticipate 60 to 70 people. How did u limit the attendees?

Excited but scares given the COVID-19 situation. How are you all feeling?

I’m a bit nervous too because of the virus. I’m thinking of postponing but won’t make that decision til May. About 40 percent of the guests are flying in and are in hard hit areas.

We are also nervous about having to postpone, anyone else considering postponing? If so, when will you make that call?

Are you all still planning on having your wedding and reception on August 29th, 2020 with all of this chaos and COVID 19 going on in our world?

Hi Alyssa, currently still planning for August 29, hoping everything will be ok by then... but will reevaluate probably in May. I know my venue has cancelled all events thru May 31, and said they would let us know if they are extending that

We're still planning for August, but also will reevaluate depending on the state of the country in May or early June.

We're still planning for August 29. I "booked" my hair place last week (no contract or deposit because they are not open, but I emailed them, and they are holding the date for me, so I'll hand in the deposit and contract when they do open!). And we have a (virtual) meeting with our priest next week.

Our details appointment with our events coordinator is in May, so I guess we will evaluate in May. But I refuse to let this virus get me down and prevent me from planning anything.

We are still planning on having ours, but making our official call to postpone by May 25th. Some of our vendors need a 90 day notice to move deposits, refund etc.

I’m actually feeling & expecting like we will need to postpone, but hoping not! Expect the worst, plan for the best over here right now.

Are any of you guys in the NJ/NYC area? I’m so nervous right now because I can’t even check out other vendors and I’m scared to make any more deposits that I won’t get a refund for.
And @megan - I appreciate the 90 day timeline as well!!!

Awfully nervous. About 90% of our guests are flying in. We are here in SoCal, and most people would be flying in from East Coast -N.Y., NJ, so this may not work. I’m also an older bride (43) so many of our guests are elderly. We will re-evaluate in May. I don’t even know iffy dress will even get here on time, despite what the shop told me. Argh! I was so excited just two months ago!

60 percent of our guests are from those same areas too and need to fly in. With the new phase restrictions we may need to cut the guest list or move the date.

Decided to move ours today 😢 and I’m bummed. It made sense for us since it a destination wedding for 90% of the people attending and lots of older family. Sending love to others 💕

Unfortunately the venue is only rescheduling closer weddings and has a policy of only letting us reschedule 30 days out which leaves us in a scary limbo.

    We’re looking towards next summer.
