Couples getting married on August 14, 2020

Shannon, on September 18, 2019 at 11:46 AM Posted in Planning 0 17
I just want to congratulate everyone with the same date👰👨‍💼🎉🎊🥳. When we chose our date we never knew there'd be this many couples with the same exact date. I think it's pretty awesome. The way we chose our date for our wedding is bc my fiances birthday is in August[6th] and he'll be turning 25 and I'll already be 25 in December [31]of 2019 and we wanted to both be 25 when we got married. The 14th because 2014 is the year we met and started dating. 2020 bc we wanted to get married right away. I think it'll be so cute to hear everyone's meaning behind why they chose August 14,2020 to be there wedding date and the significant meaning behind it😁.

Date twins!! We're August 14, 2020 too! 14's seem to follow us so it's only fitting we're getting married on the 14th. We originally wanted a date in September, but our venue only had three dates left for all of 2020 so we got really lucky! And it just happened to be 8/14/20. I hope your planning is going well!

Omg planning has been sooo stressful. I already had 2 bridesmaids and my maid of honor say yes just for them to back out. Every one keeps saying that I have time so don't stress. We really don't have time because there's other big events coming up too like my 25th birthday [December 31st] I obviously want to do something big for that and have to plan something for that. Then me and my fiances 6year anniversary of dating[January 3rd] we obviously have to celebrate that and plan something. Then it'll be valentine's day. So of course I'm thinking ahead and thinking of everything else I have to do a big event for and nobody else is. On top of it, I'm basically the planner bc the venue doesn't include decorations and I just know the theme I want but I don't know how i want everything to look. Luckily, I said yes to the dress already. That was stressful because there are some beautiful dresses out there but way too expensive. I'm having trouble with who to invite from my side because I'm estranged from my family and don't want anything to do with them because they treated me so bad but everyone keeps saying I should invite them and I'll regret not having them. Ugggh, I hope your planning has been going way more smoothly!!!! Again Congratulations 🥳

I am in the same boat as you! Luckily I didn't have anyone back out of the bridal party, but I hope it gets less stressful for you. It's less than 11 months away (ahh!) so I feel your pain on the timing issues. Plus, I'm a planner so I'm always thinking 5 steps ahead of where I need to be lol. Our venue doesn't supply decorations either so I've been thinking about that a lot. Did you decide on a color scheme yet? That's been a huge help for me picking out decorations! That and pinterest! We've been able to check off some of the big items so far - we have the venue, photographer, videographer, florist, DJ and I got my dress!

I don't have a relationship with my real mom or her side of the family and I am not inviting them to my wedding. The rest of my family and my FH's family are very supportive of that decision. I honestly don't think I will ever regret it - you have to do what is best for you and your FH! Don't let anyone else pressure you otherwise.

Hi everyone! I just postponed my 5/30/20 wedding to 8/14/20. It sucked to do, but I'm happy to be planing for this new date! I'm also lucky that all my vendors were able to make the switch!

I got an email from my venue saying that we have to choose a few alternative dates in case it goes all the way to August😔. We really don't want to change the date and we can't even decide a few other dates bc it doesn't feel right so, I'm praying we can stick with 8/14/20 and not have to choose a different date.

Hello August 14th, 2020 wedding buddies!!

It is so nice to know that this date is popular. I love the reasons for why you all chose the date. The reason why my fiance and I chose this date is the month August is the 8th month in the year which signify 8 years of dating. The 14th is the date we started dating and 2020 is an even number. 😊
Also, I have a question for everyone. Due to this pandemic, what are your thoughts? Do you think it will settle down by then? Is everyone keeping their wedding date? Have you thought or considered postponing? I am worried that this is going to last and we won't get to keep our date. Also, stressing out about this pandemic. 😰I just need some opinions.

    Hello Anna,
This virus can be super scary, and I know this may sound odd, but before this whole virus thing started happening, my man and I talked about August 14th because it was the only date that would work for both of our families and for my , so we prayed about it and are still gonna shoot for it. Well, COVID happened...
but honestly, I’m not worried at all, because I have a wonderful God who cares even about my marriage to the man of my dreams! So don’t lose hope even during these times. The greatest thing about this is WE ALL UNDERSTAND each other! We’re all in this together♥️
I hope your planning isn’t so stressful that y’all lose the joy of being married to your special guys! May your dreams come true
    Best wishes ladies!

    Hi Shannon!
I’m super excited for all the August 14th wedding date! I can’t believe it’s 104 days away!

Anyways, I really feel for all your New Yorkers. I really hope and pray this lifts so that we can function somewhat normally again,
    Best wishes bride-to-be!!-hannah-

Our venue just called to let us know they are postponing all weddings this summer. We honestly could not be any more relieved. The stress, uncertainty, and obsessively watching the news was just torture. We will have a small ceremony on August 14th, no matter what, and will have our big celebration at the venue on February 14- exactly 6 months later!

So excited about having two dates to celebrate! I guess this means I can go buy another dress for our intimate ceremony 😉 I’ll wear the glam ballgown for the reception! We also are saving money by moving the reception to the off season. Lots of silver linings. It’s a good day!
