Couples getting married on April 17, 2020

Sabrina, on September 12, 2019 at 6:58 PM Posted in Planning 0 10
Hi fellow date twins. How far along are you guys in the planning and where are you getting married?

we are getting married in Florida.
We have the church and venue booked
dj and photographer just got confirmed
a bought the dress (getting in December)
I ordered STDs today for our of town guest who have to travel.

We still have to narrow down the guest list and I am torn about the co worker aspect of it. So still trying to figure that out.

looking forward to hear your progress.

    I’m April 18th, so a day later!
We already sent out our save the dates.
Ordering our invitations soon and they’ll go out end of Jan.
We have every vendor done and mostly paid actually! Just need to do some small projects like seating chart and get more decor for centerpieces. Also just smaller items I need to get in stores and gifts for bridemaids & groomsmen.

Woo! We're April 18th as well! We have all of our vendors booked too. We're going meal tasting next week, but other than that it's the small projects like you mentioned. I'm starting to think about bridesmaids Gifts because I want to get each of my girls something that is unique to them since they're all so different!

Welcome to the WeddingWire community, Sabrina Smiley smile

It sounds like you’re right on track with your planning, well done!

I have a really helpful WeddingWire article for you to read which will hopefully help with your guest list - Should I Invite Coworkers to My Wedding? Here's the Answer.

Do you have a maximum number you’re working toward for your guest list? How many guests can your venue fit?

Thanks for the article. That as very helpful and put things back in perspective for me since I was waffling on the issue so much. I think I may just invite my corporate team. I get along well with everyone in the office, but like the article said, I don't hang out with them outside of the office. I work more closely with my team and we actually know whats going on in each other's lives. So one less thing to worry about now.

No problem, Sabrina! I'm happy it helped!

Having a rule such as "Do we hang outside of work?" , makes it clear who gets an invitation and who doesn't. Whenever you feel yourself falling in to the rabbit hole about inviting coworkers again, simply refer back to this rule and apply it Smiley smile

    I’m a mess ☹️

We have ave our venue, save the dates, photographers, videographers, my dress, and DJ. I still haven’t booked a hotel block, found a caterer, found a cake person, or hired a florist.

I’m absolutely stressed to the max. My fiancé broke his leg over the summer, and was unable to work, so we wiped out everything wedding related and just tried to survive. At this point, im fully expecting my wedding to be a mess.

I am sorry you feel you are a messed but I can completely understand why you feel overwhelmed. Book a hotel block at a hotel where you are not on the hook for any rooms that were not reserved. You still have time for the caterer, cake person and florist - its also a plus if you are getting married on the 17th, because, hopefully, that isnt a busy day for them. Look at your budget and see the type of food you can afford and get creative with it if need be. Think about the kind of flowers you want and look into either doing it yourself (youtube or taking a class) and what you will need for centerpieces. Also, with the holidays coming up, you can find some really good sales (that is my hope).

You've got the big stuff done, so tackle the rest little by little. Breathe and good luck. And also...HUGS
