Couples getting married Fall 2020

Blair, on October 8, 2019 at 10:24 AM Posted in Planning 1 39

How far are you along in your planning? So far I've got my bridesmaids picked out and I've secured my venue. Lately I've been trying to narrow down a decorator. I have plenty of choices for caterer so I'll get that figured out by December and my cousin is a DJ so that's pretty much handled. I'm completely lost when it comes to finding a photographer (still looking).

October 2020! I went overboard on the planning right away ... We have venue (with cake/catering/centerpieces etc.), photographer, my dress, bridal party. We have a meeting with a DJ tonight actually. That's been the hard one for me! I just don't know how to narrow it down. For photographer, do you know any? Not necessarily to use them (especially if you're inviting them), but they may know people. My fiance's friend is a photographer and she recommended a couple people she knew through a photography group. We adored one couple and hired them immediately. Venue's the big one, if you have that you are off to a great start! I've been in so many weddings that were planned in under 6 months, having a year feels like forever lol.

I have a few options for bridesmaids dresses, but I'm ultimately going to let them pick. We're having a bridesmaids meeting November 23rd.

My things with photographers is they are all so expensive. I'm trying to look for one that fits into our budget. Something around the $1,000 but most charge $2500. I just can't see myself paying that much. I hate to be cheap on my wedding but sometimes I rather put my iphone on portrait mode and call it a day lol

We are getting married in October 2020! So far we have a venue for reception and ceremony (which includes, DOC, catering, bar, DJ, officiant, cake, and photographer), florist and, H&MU.

Starting to dress shop next month and pick MOH dress so she can order it when she can. January we have our engagement photos.

Our venue is nearly all-inclusive so we didn't have many outside vendors to hire. So far all the outside vendors we have chosen are the ones preferred by the venue. It's nice that they have all worked together.

Maybe ask the vendors you have secured who they recommend for the services you are still trying to hire?

    October 2020 Bride.

I feel like I have a lot done. My venue, photographer, videographer, DJ, florist, DOC. I am looking at some more dresses this week and I have ideas for bridesmaids dresses. Getting together with them beginning of February to make some decisions. (Don't want to do anything extra for anyone until after the holidays). Going to have an appointment for the groomsmen at the tuxedo shop right around that same time as well. Now it's just getting together all the money to pay everyone lol. I've been engaged since July of 2018 and I'm so happy I've had this much time to plan and prepare everything.

Good luck to you and happy planning!

Venue picked which already has a DJ and in-house catering Smiley smile

I have my photographer signed, ready to schedule an engagement shoot soon. Waiting on a contract from my makeup artist for wedding day.
Just confirmed my bridal party soo...

Within the next month I'm going to schedule time to talk to a florist for bouquets (I think I'll do fake flowers for centerpieces from Etsy for tables) start looking for my wedding dress. Azazie has some beautiful cost effective bridesmaids dresses with great reviews on here so I'm making it easy by sending them a link.

That was my budget like $1,500 until I saw most of the photos were average lol. I want beautiful, artistic, moment capturing that tell a story. I found one for $2,100 that does great work. Something similar to his work, I've seen easily $3,000...

Hi ! Also October 2020 bride here! We got engaged last year in July and we ended up being able to lock down a good amount of vendors. Venue(includes cake, and florist and food), photographer, videographer, and photo booth, Booked our room block, and transportation, entertainment for dinner time, church and singer, and the DJ! lol we honestly just need the details down for the rest of it. We got a lot of the major vendors out of the way. lol next step in November is asking our bridal party!

We're getting our engagement photos done December 8th. The guy who is doing them makes his clients look magazine article worthy. My FH picked him and he's going to ask him about his prices for actual weddings. My bridesmaids dresses are coming from Azazie as well.

    We're September 2020!

I'm very type-A when it comes to planning! So far we have our venue, photographer, officiant and my hair and makeup person. We're on the fence about having a bridal party since our wedding is so small so we'll decide on that later. STD's are out since 95% are coming from out of state-we ordered our invitations at the same time but obviously won't send them til next year. We're in the process of figuring out flower arrangements (my mom was a florist for years so she's handling this for us) and early next year we'll tackle the catering and cake/desserts.

My dress is ordered and I've been getting little things here and there. Cake topper, card box, signs, etc, etc.

FH doesn't always understand why I plan so far in advanced but honestly, taking care of the little things here and there has helped spread out the costs. My dad is generously giving us around $10k towards the wedding but we won't get that money until next year. By that time, I'm hoping to have the photographer and officiant paid off and more than 50% of the venue.
