I'm finalizing our ceremony music and struggling with our recessional song. We are getting married at my family's cattle ranch and are huge country fans, and the rest of the important wedding music is country. That said, FIL's are more high-brow and FH doesn't want them to judge. I can't find an upbeat country song about love and/or celebration for the recessional that doesn't have lyrics that are too "redneck." For instance FH has vetoed his own two favorite songs- Love Your Love the Most by Eric Church and Great Day to Be Alive by Travis Tritt, for that reason. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Maybe "redneck", maybe not. But I think we are going to walk out to Cowboy take me away by the Dixie Chicks!

Good Day for Marrying you by Dave Barnes! It's not "country" per say but it's super adorable and really "rusticy" to me.

Keith Urban would have a few good songs for this, Better Life or Better Half or Who wouldn't want to be me, or Sweet thing. I'm not even a overly huge Keith Urban Fan,haha but he's a good choice because he doesn't have the twang (which non country music listeners tend to hate). And a lot of his songs are upbeat.

Has anyone ever actually listened to the lyrics of just to see you smile? It's about a guy who'd give anything to make her smile, including letting her be with another guy. Not exactly what I'd want played at my wedding.

But I love any Keith Urban love song. My favorite is "Only you can love me this way."

@Sarah K I had the same thought about that song choice.

I love Livin on Love by Alan Jackson though. Unfortunately for me, the only country song at my wedding will probably be my Father/Daughter dance since FH HATES country.

Thanks for all the awesome suggestions! I think I have my FH sold on Our Kind of Love by Lady Antebellum. It's upbeat and appropriately themed- it's our kind of ceremony! Also a PSA for anyone in love with a song that's not quite lyrically right. I discovered you can download karaoke/ instrumental versions of almost any song. We are doing our two fave Travis Tritt songs without words for the family and BP processional.
