Counting Down

AEW, on September 30, 2019 at 12:38 PM Posted in Planning 0 37

Woo!

According to my timer, it's 60 days until the big day! It's about the get real! lol

We still have quite a bit to go over but now that we're finally back in the same place and time, things will be better to coordinate and plan out. I'm trying not to get too overwhelmed thinking about what has to be done. It comes and goes like waves with highs and lows. I'll get super excited or super panicked but then I'm like, it will all be okay. I know that like attracts like so as long as I stay positive, the positive energy will just multiply and radiate out to everything else.

How's the planning going for y'all? Is your checklist still long like mine or are you just on cruise control towards the fun?

Hey AEW, my checklist is long but I have until April. I am such a detailed oriented person and I love organization so I probably freak out about things more than the average person Lol. But so far things are going well. The days that I feel overwhelmed with planning, I take a step back for a day so I won't stress out or I let FH step in. Good luck to you.

We are at 47 days and are feeling like we are slipping into cruise control! We still have things on our list to get done, but my sense of "things aren't getting done!!" has subsided a few weeks ago after we devoted a weekend to working on things... now we are just down to the odd and ends of things... for now, haha! This will likely change in the next few weeks.

I am 75 days out and still have SO MUCH to do. Working on final payments for things, haven't started the centerpieces, still haven't settled on a makeup person. I feel like I put things on hold for a while because it was "too soon" to worry about stuff and now i'm like "OMG SO MUCH TO DO". Stressed to the max currently and fiance is out of town on a job for the next 2 months.

Hannah girl I understand. It's a little bit opposite for me since I've been away all summer with work so these last 2 months are like crunch time for us. The list is shrinking, but I still feel like there's a ton of stuff to be done. I know it will get done. Just gotta do it.

I feel like every time I check a task off my list, I add another one. lol. My fiancé really isn’t a ton of help with wedding planning and honestly it might be easier to get things down with him out of town cause I can spread everything out in the living room and work on things to my hearts content. Lol. I just feel like the bride above where I took a break because I was so caught up on everything and then I just realized holy crap I have a million things to do and a little over 2 months to get it all done!😅

It goes fast Anita! I was in Alaska chillin like, "The big things are done; I'm good until I get to NY. . . ." uh uh lol

The big things are the easy part; it's the little things that kick your butt. Especially the things you didn't think about in the beginning. But if you have the help, use it. You'll be happy you did in the end.

I'm 31 days out and am somewhat panicking. The big stuff is handled, that's not the problem. It's all the small details that are driving me nuts...bridesmaids shoes, hair, makeup, nails, table & ceremony decorations, etc. Ugh...the list is LONG!! And apparently "I don't care" is not an appropriate answer, even though it's the truth lol. And (well-meaning) opinions from everywhere. I'm at the point where I'm just going to make a decision and move on. Deal with it Smiley smile We have the essentials: pastor to get married, food and open bar for guests, and a DJ. I feel like people won't remember that the decorations are two different color reds. And if they do....whatever

I completely get you Dre; it's allll these little details that are finding their way onto my to-do lists girl. And under normal circumstances, I'm your detailer - that's what I do! I'm usually the person to call to take care of the small details but I feel like I'm off my game here lol

I agree that you may jus have to make the executive decisions so make sure things get done. I'm gonna get to work on my "Don't Call the Bride" list so that when all the extra questions start to come up, people know who to call and get their answers from.

Yaasss!! Love the "Don't Call the Bride" list. Wish I would have thought of that.

Normally I love planning! I planned our whole honeymoon. Mapped it out on Google Maps and everything. It was great! But deciding on a hairpin for my bridesmaids....I can't make myself care Smiley laugh

Anyway, I can vent all day lol. Good luck with your wedding plans...and details! Smiley smile

I love the attitude...I feel like I've been super nice throughout the whole preparation for the wedding...and the nicer I am the worst people act. Now...I will make my decisions and they either will or won't participate. Smiley smile

Girl, Pinterest is LIFE lol Most (if not all) of my inspiration comes from there. I saw someone had a blank list posted and I was like, yep need that too!

We are leaning more towards an anniversary-moon instead so it will give us time to relax and start saving again after this .

I'm sure we all need to vent a little so no worries - best of luck and prayers for you and your wedding plans and wedding as well hon.

Go Big Anita! Love the NYE date! Bet he won't be able to "forget" your anniversary lol

I'm sure that once everyone arrives, most of the heavy lifting will be done. But if there are little things here and there that are still lingering, then yeah, get some of them to help out. I'm super excited to see my family again. Our wedding is Thanksgiving weekend so it's gonna be a blast! And what better timing for our rehearsal dinner too! My mom and aunts who are still there are just waiting for me to arrive so I can tell them what they need to do. Other than that, I'm just following up with vendors and invites until I get back home next month. I know time is gonna just fly so I'm trying to pace myself and not fret too much. I'm actually looking forward to the madness - guess I work well under pressure lol

Delegate and then delegate some more. You probably have people around you willing to help if you ask and show them exactly what you need. My cousin ended up doing my centerpieces after i waited too long and then couldn't spend the time on them that they needed because i had too many other things to do.

Exactly!!! Decision has been made! Don't like it? Take that up with somebody that's NOT me Smiley laugh It's uncomfortable because it's so out of character for me, but it has to be done for there to be any progress. Similar to you, I've been very pleasant throughout this whole process...tried to be accommodating to people's thoughts and suggestions. But the suggestion box is closed...this is what we're doing...have a great day lol

Good luck with your planning! NYE sound fun!!

Well I'm not sure who I will delegate since we won't have a wedding party per se. But I'm sure that I'll be able to rally all the help that I need once I figure out what is left to be done. I've been kinda doing that on a smaller scale since I'm not actually in St. Thomas yet. The coordinator, caterer, florist and baker are all there so I definitely have to meet with them as soon as I arrive. But those are the bigger things. Like I said, it's gonna be the little things that I haven't thought about yet that I'm tryin not to let sneak up on me.
