Costco for flowers and cake?

meetthesteas, on February 28, 2016 at 7:09 PM Posted in Planning 2 24

Has anyone used or is using Costco for flowers or cake? We were just their for other reasons ( and since this wedding is the only thing on my mind) it caught my eye that they do both. Just wondering if it is easy and customizable? Or more generic like "So & so's wedding"

It really depends on the Costco. They are making us a small one tier cake off of a picture on pinterest (the lady at our Costco is amazing), for 150.00 and then our guests will have sheet cake from there. Costco sheet cake is soo good. Our Costco here however, has very limited flower selection.

I did SAMs club! Sheet cake was good but actual decorated cake I got from a baker because I was not impressed by their designs and piping and fondant application.

We may do a sheet cake from Costco but I haven't found any that do an actual multi-tier wedding cake. Don't know much about their flowers

Update. Researched Sam's Club last night and WOW. I'm really going to look into using them for flowers. A whole bridal package with bouquets, corsages etc. is 357.00 and they are beautiful with good reviews.

I'm getting a very small 2 tier cake for the cake cutting photos from Sam's Club (it is only $34) and then I am planning to order a few sheet cakes from Costco for the actual cake that everyone eats. Both FH and I love their cakes and they are so reasonable on pricing.

Doing Costco for flowers. So much cheaper, and my grandma has a lot of experience with flower arrangements and is happy to help me put them together!

I just ordered 130 calla lilies for $217.79. My bouquet and arrangements are simple and using only one flower makes sense for me. I have a friend that is putting them together for me.

The only thing about the wholesale stores that I haven't been pleased with is that most of them do frozen cakes which makes the cake a bit dried out

We are doing Costco online flowers for ours and I'm pretty sure we will be getting sheet cakes there as well. I thought about getting cupcakes there but from what I have heard they're massive so if we go that direction I'll probably just have a bakery do them

I'm doing Costco just for the baby's breath for the ceremony. It was about 40% cheaper than my florist (or the other florists I got quotes from).

I ordered a bunch of flowers from Costco. We are making the bouquets, bouts, and center puce our selves. I ordered tulips, roses, hydrangea, eucalyptus, baby's breath , green filler.

I had a friend get her cake at Sams and it was really good! I will be getting a wedding cake from a bakery and doing a cupcake bar (I think) from Walmart or Sams. (we dont have a costco)

I took a hort class in high school a few years ago and if I liked my own work I would do my own flowers to but I dont like I will do my own flowers.

I think getting the flowers and cake from Costco is a great idea to save some $$!

We thought about using Costco for flowers. However, none of their packages worked for us. We wanted two bridal bouquets, one MOH bouquet, and a bout. Their packages all assumed only one bridal bouquet, and at least two bridesmaids' bouquets, four bouts, two corsages, and a toss bouquet. As it was, what we paid a florist was about the same as their minimum package, but it contained the items we wanted. Plus, we had more control over the look of the bouquets, choosing to have arm bouquets rather than more traditional bouquets for the brides.

If there is a package that works for you, they may be great. But do be aware that their packages are not terribly flexible. So if what you want doesn't fit neatly into one of their packages, you may be better off going elsewhere.

As for cake, NotFroofy made ours, and it was delicious!

I've heard of some people getting a small "cutting" cake from a bakery and then sheet cakes from cosco. We don't have them here but I heard they came out great! I also heard that flowers from there and Sam's club are great as well!

Yes!! Definitely purchase the wedding cake and flowers from Costco. We ordered 10 bouquets for $100 and they were beautiful! We had enough for 15 arrangements. All I had to do was snip the ends a put them in a vase. We also ordered the sheet cakes for the guests. They loved the cream cheese frosting. $18 for a sheet cake that feeds 40 people is such a good deal. We had a separate cake from whole foods on display for the wedding.
