What is the average cost of hair in makeup in the suburbs? I am not looking for any sort of dramatic look. I feel like some of the quotes I am getting are just outrageous! I was really hoping to cover the cost of myself and bridesmaids but that does not seem like a possibility with the quotes I am...

Try thumbtack. Most rates go up when your hair is in an updo. I’m paying around $450 for my 2 bridesmaids & me.

That’s a great question. I’m seeing quotes for $250 for makeup and $300 for hair in southeast va. Go figure. Seems a bit outrageous to me. I’ll
Keep looking. Good to know that’s above average.

I live in California and the best price I could get was $650 for a trial plus wedding hair and make up. I also have to pay her $1 per mile to get to my destination 🙃 that’s how most of them cost where I’m from

I got married in St. Louis, I paid $130 for hair and $130 for makeup and my bridesmaids paid $80 for each - it was roughly the same when my best friend got married in the Chicago suburbs (I think hers were actually $10 more each). It is definitely going to be a higher price in large cities and their surrounding suburbs! My friend got married about an hour away in a more rural area and her prices were basically half what I paid.

I paid $300 for my hair and makeup. This included my trial HMU day and travel to me the day of. the wedding. Cost for BMs was $65 per service. I live in a south suburb of Chicago, wedding was 3 1/2 months ago.

I am down in Central Oregon, and mine is around $325 for my hair and makeup. Now I am wishing I had moved to where all these other brides are! haha! Much cheaper than the west coast. Go Seattle for being majorly pricey.

Hi! I live in Chicago but will have our reception sort of in the chicagoland suburbs. I found someone who is doing my makeup for $75 and hair is also $75. Hair and makeup are being done but separate people but for my bridesmaids they're charging $65. I am so shocked at seeing some of the rate people are being given on here. I didn't even realize wedding makeup and hair could be so expensive. I would definitely recommend looking at facebook for some makeup and hair stylists. You could even join chicagoland wedding groups and make a post asking if anyone can recommend hair and makeup stylists that are budget friendly!

This is definitely regional and can fluctuate greatly.

I live in New Hampshire, what I would consider a small town that is also a regional hub in a rural area, and hair ranges from from $60-$105 and makeup is around $50-$80. Combined you pay about $120-$150 before tip if you go to the salon.

If you want the HMUA to be on site, I've found that different salons/HMUAs have different policies. Some will just charge you more and others require a certain minimum (usually in dollars or people) to travel.
