Coronavirus Rescheduling

We were scheduled to get married on Thursday April 9th. Due to COVID-19 we had to reschedule until July. My FH is making comments that he would like to make it legal on our original date and still have the full ceremony and reception in July. I'm ok with that but I'm the special feeling for the wedding will be gone. What do you think am I being crazy?

Difficult to say because it’s all about how you feel. One thing I’ll say is once you elope your already married. So when you guys have your wedding maybe it can be a vow renewal and still reception and dancing!

We made it legal on our date. We felt like we earned it.
I think it will be more special for us. The pressure is off. We're married. Everyone is still excited about our wedding.

And anyone who tries to call it a vow renewal will be challenged to a duel by me.

Hi Michelle,
Congrats on your engagement and happy original wedding date! I think it would be beautiful to get married today in a small ceremony. Then, you can plan your reception for a day later down the road. Can you think of a better excuse to wear your dress twice?!

I really think these events are what you make of them. We're in a similar boat, and I have feelings that echo both yours and your fiances. I want the day we picked to be special, and I want the day we legally get married to be special, and I want the day we celebrate with the people we love to be special, whether those are all the same day or three different days.
