With all this panic, a lot of people are getting laid off, me included. Just found out yesterday until further notice. I filed a claim with unemployment for the time being so hopefully that works in my favor. Unfortunately, with that happening, FH and I decided that we will cancel our reception. Not because of the virus but because we don't know how long I'll be out of a job, he barely makes anything at his and no telling how this unemployment will play out.

We're just not sure if we'll be able to catch up on payments so we rather cut our losses now before it gets too out of hand and we lose more money like we did when we planned our last wedding We're just going to stick with our elopement ceremony and plan for a reception once things are more financially stable.....again 😒 Its always something and I just can't help but feel the universe is telling us we're not meant to have a wedding or something.

Who else is partially or fully cancelling their wedding? Are you postponing or changing plans?

Just found out this morning that FH basically doesn't have a job anymore either. Their HQ closed down. It's very stressful! Also heard that there's hope this would diminish but not until maybe August.

We are still getting married in our church with just our parents and photographer there on our original date (April 25th), have a small reception with parents and siblings at my FMIL's house after, then having a vow renewal / formal ceremony and reception on our postponed date (August 1st).

Not a bad idea. I wish you the best of luck through everything and may it all turn out as beautiful as you hoped through all this chaos.

We haven't cancelled yet. But ours isn't until May 9th so a little too far out to tell just now. I feel like we will most likely have to reschedule it. But being that 1. I don't want to wait to get married and 2. We already have so many items with that date printed - I am leaning towards going to the JP (if we can...) and then doing a vowel renewal either later this year or next year when things settle down. I've begun reaching out to all of our vendors and venue to see what they recommend.

I hope everyone does the responsible thing when necessary even if it is inconvenient for us!! Smiley heart

We're also May 9th. I was hopeful until this weekend when everything in the Tri-State area started shutting down. And now there's restrictions on the amount of people and times they can be out in NJ, where the ceremony and reception are going to be held. So now we're thinking to go to the courthouse or have our officiant do the ceremony (hopefully on our original day in May if we can by then). We'll either hold a dinner with our local guests sometime after things calm down, either at our venue if we can't get a refund or a closer restaurant if we can. And we'll see if our photographer will take pictures of us in our wedding outfits someday when it's nice out.

Neither FH nor I feel like planning another reception, or ceremony, after all the stress of the past couple weeks. We're just ready to be married and moving on with life. I am disappointed though. I know it's only one day, and we were planning a smaller wedding anyways, but it's hard to accept that things we planned won't be happening now.

We're in the same boat. We're looking into restaurants as well. We cancelled our big reception and will just stick with our intimate ceremony.

Thank you! I think we might have found a spot. It just sucks cause it would only be a semi-private dinner and I'm not sure if we'll be able to keep our photographer/videographer. So we'll see what happens with that.

Our wedding is April 18th and we are not cancelling anything yet. We just cut the guest count down to about 30-40 people. We both are still at work and it doesn't look like the warehouse will be closing anytime soon. So for now it's just a waiting game........
