Contingency Plan?

Mollie, on March 26, 2020 at 1:47 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 6
My wedding is scheduled for 5/30. I 100% want to get married that day (not anyrhing special I just like the numbers lol). I've thought about what would happen if the virus isn't under control by then, and I have a vague plan. Should I be taking that plan more seriously? Do you think I'll be okay to have a wedding then? Or should I just call all the grand stuff off now? All of this uncertainty makes it hard, but I'm sure you all know that too!

At this point I absolutely would be thinking of a plan B. But just to have as backup. Because cdc rules go into May and that’s no groups larger then 10 and then depending on what your state is doing. I would just have a backup in case! Have your venue and vendors “hold” a date for you that’s later in the year! I know hearing that sucks. We had to postpone our April wedding for end of August 😩

I would definitely work on that Plan B. This thing is going to last a longer than May. I don't know where you live, but I'm speaking as someone in the NY metro area. This thing is bad and our hospitals are overflowing. If hasn't peaked here yet, and we're a bit ahead of the rest of the country in terms of progression.

Yes I would have a concrete back up plan in place, and I would consider officially postponing and booking a new date. I definitely don't see things clearing up by the end of May...I'm so sorry I know this is not what you want to hear. But I would urge you to get a new date in the books before everything is already taken, since most May brides are postponing

Hi Mollie! It's so hard to know right now!! I'd definitely reach out to your venue to start talking through your options and what plan b could look like so you're ready to go if you do need to change your plans.

As long as I can get a marriage license, I don't want to postpone the wedding. I'll call the ceremony and reception off if I need to, but I do not want to postpone. I guess I'll be planning that backup plan more in depth this week! Thank you all!

I think it would be smart of you to contact your vendors and venue just to see what options you’d have because while I’m hopeful this will at least be better by then, there’s no guarantees
