Confused ! Plz help with opinions

I would start looking now - for all vendors- it’s never too soon... and I would weigh out pros and cons of guests having to travel / hotels .. dates - you are looking into — I would start with what season. Indoor / outdoor - and venues with hotels near for those who are yraveling

I feel like this is more of a discussion to have with your future husband. 1 the main thing you both should agree on is your budget because that will determine your Venue and if you will have a destination wedding. As the pp said definitely start looking at venues as I have seen some Brides on this site have to plan their wedding out a couple of years in advance if they are hard to set on a certain date because some popular venues book very far out and there are certain months and dates that are very popular for weddings. Also an idea is to maybe have your wedding in between North Carolina and New York so it benefits everybody. I personally think Maryland could be a nice in-between place or something such as that. Or you guys can go to an area where everyone would have to travel equally like California or even an international country. Based on your budget start looking at options and look at pricing of venues based on where you're choosing to go.

I would look into the costs of different venues before deciding on location. Most of my fiancé’s family lives in NY, but we live in CT. A lot of his family wanted it to be in NY but the places I looked at were above what we wanted to spend. We decided on a hotel in CT close to the NY border and made sure room rates would be affordable. Some family already knows the date and we will send STDs around a year in advance. It’s not too early to start researching vendors. Our wedding is January of 2022 and we have booked a venue, photographer, and dj company.

I live in NC too! We are having our wedding in Houston since my husbands family is there. My family is here but they’re all more stable health and finically. And I’m originally from Ohio so my family all has to travel. Get married where you want.

View Quoted Comment It’s really hard planning a “destination” wedding. I’m having a difficult time with it and almost want to back out and do it here but our venue is already paid for and I love it. It’s cheaper to get married in Texas lol! The important people will be there no matter what. If they fly, there are some airlines that do a discounted group rate, hotel blocks, that sort of thing. There’s options for sure

View Quoted Comment We’re doing everything at a hotel which makes it easy. Thank you! We wanted to get the big things booked before I start a Masters program in a couple of weeks. We’ll wait until the summer to research the other vendors we will need. I recommend tackling one thing at a time. We got engaged in July, but didn’t start seriously planning until November. We started with venue, once that contract was finalized we moved on to photographer, then we moved on to dj.
