Confession - Sneak Peek: The Dress

I have a confession.. I bought my dress back in February off the rack, which meant I got to bring it home the same day. I am still looking for a person to do my alterations, which means my dress is hanging in my closet. (Don't worry, my FH has no desire to sneak a peek as he wants to be completely surprised on the day of..), but my confession is.. I totally sneak a peek from time to time!! There have been a few moments where I see the bag hanging there and I hide myself in the closet to catch a glimpse at it's beauty! Unfortunately, the pictures I have with it on is a size too small and the dress I bought is a size too big, so I have never seen the dress fit "just right" which easily causes me to worry about making the right choice, but once I peek.. I totally fall in love all over again! Does anyone else peek at their dress!?

Not a big deal - it's your dress. I think reminding yourself what it looks like is a good thing. There isn't really a superstition about you seeing your own dress, just FH.

As often as I can!! My FMIL is keeping my dress at her house, because FH is not to be trusted!! lol I mean it's not like he's trying to see it before the day--he wants to be surprised. But he's like a big kid on Christmas--he just doesn't have the will power to stop himself. So, that's why the dress is at his mom's. Every time we go over there, I sneak into the closet when nobody is paying attention, just to get a glimpse at it! I love it so much, and if it was at my house, I'd probably put it on everyday!!

If I had my dress back from alterations and was able to see it regularly, I would definitely be peeking all the time. My dress will be staying at my dad’s house when I get it back to avoid peeking and he’s the only family member with no animals as I would be super paranoid of my aunt’s cats or my sister’s dog tearing into it

Are you choosing between people to do the alterations? Or are you still searching for someone?
