Concert themed wedding?

Just a thought but we had a friend that did a concert theme as well. She had her wedding and reception at a local concert venue. It turned out amazing. She even had a place to play guitar hero where it was projected on the wall. It was a great time. The lighting was definitely key to pulling the event off. She called it the Ball & Chain tour LOL and made posters for the "after party" it was cute Hope that helped a little.

Wow you guys are all so creative!!!! I think many ideas on here are awesome. My only concern is that somewhere around the middle of the thread i began picturing more of a Sweet 16 or BatMitzvah scene. IMHO I think you can pull off a theme wedding like this with many of the above mentioned details but I'd just be careful to not make it too young feeling. Don't at all mean to sound negative. I'm an "over the top person" at heart, but sometimes I just go one step too far and it falls flat like a house of cards.

Have you ever seen those bowls made out of warped old records? You could maybe use them as centerpieces to hold flowers or favors.

Having our ceremony and reception at a small venue concert hall would be awesome! But I already paid for the reception hall. I don't want it to "feel" like a concert though... I still want it to have a wedding feel with concert undertones. (Sounds like I'm talking about wine, or something.) Maybe for our 10 year anniversary party we can go all out on the concert theme at a small concert venue! *girly squeals* That sounds like so much fun!

We are definitely doing the record center pieces, but we are going to print out copies of album art from our fave bands and cut them to fit the center of the records. It'll look like we own records of bands like Hurt Vol II and Nine Inch Nails With Teeth. Awesome!
