Compostables

Danika, on January 9, 2020 at 3:18 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 3

HI there! Our wedding is being held at a venue that is in the process of going green. We will receive a small discount if we use compostable plates and would love to do our part. However Im having a hard time doing research on plates that will hold up. Our food is BBQ, and we don't want a plate that will be too flimsy or leak. Has anyone used a product for something similar?

We used plates made from palm leaves, like these . They were plenty sturdy and still looked really nice.

    Hey there, Danika Smiley smile

Have you hired a caterer to take care of the BBQ? If so, they may have a suggestion of a sturdy compostable plate that will hold their food.

I was last year at a wedding where they used the compostable plates from smeen which where extremly sturdy. The bride told my they where made from leftover from the bamboo production. So no extra trees/bamboo trees where harmed.

They did look that fancy but the hold the gravy sauce for minimum 2 hours without getting soggy. Therefore I think I will also use them at our wedding as they are already approved Smiley smile

Edit: I was speaking about those Amazon link here Smiley winking
