Colorado Honeymoon

How secluded do you want to be? Also, am I right in assuming you want a cabin in the mountains? West Colorado is mostly mountains, but Eastern Colorado is all flat flat flat.

We would rather be in a condo, cabin, or townhouse as oppose to staying in a hotel or resort. As far as secluded it would be nice to have some privacy, but still be close to nightlife, restaurants, activities, etc. We have looked into Glenwood springs, Colorado Springs, Aspen, and Basalt. Just wondering if anyone has every honeymooned in Colorado and if they have suggestions of places to stay or things to do! We're open to anything Thanks!

I have been living in Colorado for about a year now &I really like visiting Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) especially the south end by Grand Lake/Granby. It is so beautiful there any time of the year especially with the lake and Mountains. There are cabins located in that area too. If you always wanted to do more exploring it is decently close to I-70 were you can take it east to Denver area or west to where all the ski resorts are. What time of year will you be going? In the summer there is atving, horseback riding, lots of hiking, and animal watching. There are usually groupons for this area or check out livingsocial.com. There are some restaurants in that area too. The north side of RMNP is pretty cool too and Estes Park is a little more populated and has lots of little shops and ice cream places as well as many cabins to rent. If you go in fall there is always the possibility of seeing the elk bugle which is pretty neat, but this time is also busy do to hunting season.

I think we are going with Glenwood Springs! I have an uncle that lives there who can show us around if needed and it seems like it's pretty central if we want to explore. Does anyone have any thoughts or comments about Glenwood Springs, CO? Thanks!

I have never lived in CO, but I've visited there approx 8 times. I took a day trip to Glenwood Springs and its gorgeous!!! We went white water rafting there and I can't wait to bring Hubby there to visit and try out the hot springs!

Colorado born and raised here! I was going to suggest Estas Park or Glendwood Springs! But then I read through the comments! I say; very, VERY good choice. I love Glenwood! There is so much to do there! And honestly anywhere in Colo is going to be gorgeous, but something about Glenwood just sticks out! Great choice! We are going to black hawk for our honeymoon. We can't afford Vegas so Black Hawk is the next best thing! Haha.

You do several day trips to different areas since its centrally located and right on I-70.

Thank you everyone! We are very excited to plan and book our Honeymoon to Glenwood Springs! Any suggestions as far as accomodations? I've found the Denver Hotel, Glenwood Hot Springs Lodge, and Hotel Glenwood Springs, which all look pretty nice. Any suggestions on good places to eat in the area? I have never been to the Denver Hotel, but both in Glenwood are nice. And that hot springs are so awesome! Also I just noticed your wedding is a day after my birthday!
