Color Schemes That Would Go with Army Class A's

JustCallMeNAN, on August 12, 2009 at 2:15 PM Posted in Planning 0 16

My soon-to-be husband is in the army and is going to be wearing his Class A's at our wedding. They are the hunter greenish color and I cant think of any color combinations that would go with that other than camo. haha. & I dont want camo in my wedding. (His Idea) I would like something that is feminine yet controversial. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I want something unique and spunky. =)

I love pale yellow and green together...and creme would look great with those two.

Not sure what you mean by controversial...are you looking for something more bold?

Deep red, brick red, burnt orange, rust, brown, black would all go with Class As, basically deep earthy colors, or white or cream, I would stay away from metallics. Or you can contrast with brighter shades of those same colors. But you don't _have_ to match his uniform, you can pick whatever colors you like for the season of the year, most guys' tuxedos or suits don't match the wedding colors either.

I've seen some really cool tables, napkins, invitations and centerpieces that are dark brown and green (like apple green or pear) with white or cream accents. The dark earthly colors would go well with his uniform. I'll try to find some pics...

However I agree with weliz, you don't have to match his uniform to your colors.

How about a fushia? or shades of purple? There's a good color wheel tool at http://kuler.adobe.com

Those are all great color combos, but since it's his uniform, I don't think anyone will comment that the colors don't line up exactly. It's his uniform - that's the color it comes in!

Just something to keep in mind.... my fiance is in the Army too and we're having a formal military wedding. The Class A's are currently the dress greens, but they'll be switching to blue very soon. It might be easier to come up with a color that goes with blue rather than green. Just a tip. Smiley smile

Any colour would work! It is such a base that it doesn't go or clash with anything really but you could just do shades of green with a bright colour tossed in

My colors are going to be a chocolate brown and bright green. If it is a darler green that is somewhat nuetral then those colors would work well. The brown is classic and nuetral to go with the dark green (and I guess kinda camo-ish together) but then adding the bright green will be unexpected, girly, and will look good.

Hello, as a former Army wacko, you and your man actually have another option. There are Dress Blues that he is authorized to wear. They look a little more up to date and you don't have to low crawl up to the alter so you can match his duds. It's not an assigned uniform and you'll have to pay out of pocket for them but they are sharp.

    P.S. CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S.S. I've been out of the Army for a few years so they could be gonzo.

If you do want to switch to the dress blues, look on eBay! My fiance got his on there and paid a fraction of what it would have cost otherwise! Otherwise, you could just wait because from what I hear, they're suppose to be upgrading the greens to a blue color anyway.
