Cocktail hour Help!!!

The cocktail hour should be an hour. We’re having appetizers, music, and an open bar. It’ll be outside near the ceremony area. Then, the reception will be inside. We will be attending the cocktail hour, too. All of our photos are being done before the ceremony with the exception of a few portraits of just us later on during golden hour. We want our bridal party and families to just be able to enjoy themselves after the ceremony and not have to miss out on anything for pictures.

That's very kind of you to do for your bridal party and families! May I ask when you took your pictures was it separately of just you with your bridal party and family and his with his groomsmen and family or did you opt for a first look before the ceremony? I'm just wondering how I could do this without doing a first look he really wants to see me walk down the aisle for the first time. Thank you

Our cocktail hour was 1 hour. We had apps, drinks, and music.

I'd say just an hour. Ours is from 5-6. Our DJs will go around with cards and if the guests beat them in a quick hand then they win a scratch off! Our families all love gambling/card games so it's a nod to some of our favorite entertainment.

That's a great plan! I like having the lawn games available then so people don't leave the reception as much to play them.
