Clueless bride

I got engaged in July and just started planning my wedding. We planned for a leap year wedding. I keep being told that it’s near impossible to plan a wedding in six month. I would love some perspective.

I planned my entire destination wedding in 11 weeks. It was only 55 people but you still have to deal with the same things. It can be done!! Just stay organized

I had four months and no hired wedding planner, it’s possible. Stay organized, doublecheck everything on your list. Don’t tackle new projects until you finish the first one.
Lock in your vendors NOW, especially if you have a Saturday wedding. Check Weddingwire and Thumbtack for vendors.

Get a wedding planner book, it gives you somewhere to write down vendor address/number, store copies of your contracts, keep track of your budget, write your guests and phone numbers. Everything. This book is a life saver.

If you need any help finding things, hit me up. My wedding’s next month so everything’s still fresh on my mind. I’m a rush and budget bride.

It's possible! I planned my entire wedding in eight months, while in school full-time, working part-time, and studying for my boards!

Stay organized. Make a timeline, budget, and strict to-do list and stick to it. Realize you will definitely need to compromise and be flexible.

Fun! I thought about a leap year wedding (but since we’re having a DW in Vegas, it’s too cold for us)

A wedding can certainly be planned in 6-months. Planning doesn’t take long... You just have to know what you want, select the venue, make decisions without lingering on the ideas too long and be able to pay for it. Done!

So far I have the photographer, DJ and the makeup artist picked out. Working on finding the right venue but it is a huge struggle due to the sheer cost of a decent venue.

It’s possible but stressful I’m sure. Make sure you do not have a lot on your plate already.

It’s very possible, especially if you’re not high maintenance.

We booked our venues and our rabbi 14 months out, then didn't do anything else until about four months out. If you can find a venue, it's totally possible.

This should help. I also believe in the power of determination and grit. You got this! Keep in mind, though, that leap day is a popular day so I'd try to lock in your venue/caterer ASAP.

Hi date twin!! You can totally plan a wedding in 6 months! We got engaged on Easter and 90% of our stuff was done within 2 months. One of my brothers was only engaged for 4 months and the other was engaged for 6 months. Both of them had over 300 people at their weddings too! Just start with the big stuff! Guest list, budget, venue, photographer, etc. Venues and photographers go quickest so you'll want to jump on those soon!

It is definitely possible, especially if you are already an organized person. We had just over a year to plan but honestly didn't get started until we had 7 months left because I got side-lined with two surgeries this year. I used the timeline on the website but made it work for me. Just decide what you're working with for budget and what is most important to you. Then go from there and have fun.

It's definitely possible! We got engaged in February, and all of the "big" things were decided & booked by mid-March. Our engagement is about 9 months. My sister's wedding was planned in about 6 months last year. I have been using the Knot's checklist to mark things off as they are completed.
