I’m curious on how you all clean your own rings? I was peaking at my peaking at my wedding band, and noticed that my engagement ring is in desperate need of a cleaning because it’s dull and not as shiny as the band is.
I read up online and the “experts” said the best way is regular dish soap and warm water and to let your ring soak for 30 minutes. I did that and it’s still not as shiny.
Should I just take it to the place where he purchased them from and have them to professionally clean it?

My SIL just gave me a Juli diamond cleaning brush and I'm obsessed. Highly, highly recommend. It's basically a gigantic upgrade on the toothbrush/dishsoap routine and it keeps your rings safe so you don't drop or hurt them while brushing. The soap that comes with it is super powerful and actually smells nice which is a lovely bonus. I had seen a few ads and celeb posts on insta but hesitated at the $160 price point. But after holding it in my hands and using it for 10 seconds you totally get it. It's clearly a high-end product and not another POS jewelry cleaner. Gorgeous packaging too! Made for an amazing gift.

I would not recommend using soap as it will leave a residue on the stones. My suggestion is to take you engagement ring back to the jeweler to have your your ring refinished. Refinishing it will make it look like it's brand new. I worked in a high end jewelry store for 10 years and refinishing is very typical.
