Cigar Rollers

MrsLaurenET, on August 10, 2015 at 4:33 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

We were thinking of having a professional cigar roller come in to make cigars for the guests! I contacted one company and their quote was $1400 for two hours! I nearly threw up! Did anyone book a cigar roller for their wedding? If so, what was the ballpark cost? That just seems soooo high to me!

I'm not any help, but that does seem insane!! What about just having a cigar bar--basically a humidor with an assortment and the necessary paraphernalia (cigar cutter, lighter, ashtray)?

That's what I was thinking too Barbara. I can't believe anyone would pay so much for two hours! Well, maybe if you're rich I suppose, haha.

I think that's a little high but in general, the cost for an onsite cigar roller seems to be around $800-$1000. I think Barbara's idea of a self serve bar would be great and you'd have a better guarantee of quality by buying brands you know.

I'm just having a cigar bar. People don't have to wait for the cigars to be rolled and it makes for a better presentation. My venue volunteered to set up the cigar display after dessert.

It's a bit high, but not that high.

    Another money suck, sorry.

Damn, I'm in the wrong business haha.

I think setting up a 'cigar bar' like another PP suggested is great alternative!

It doesn't seem that high. Good cigars are really expensive.

I just want to mention that if you do decide to do this, I would really recommend warning people. There are a number of medical conditions that would make this really bad for people to be around (along with just not being ok with smoke), so it only seems fair to let people know so they have the option of bowing out if it would be a problem for them. For example I get bad migraines and if I so much as get a strong wiff of a cigar I will be miserable for maybe a couple days. My FH has poor lungs (though you would never know it) from being premature as a baby and if he is around any smoke he can't breathe. Unless you know for sure that everyone one of your guests is ok with smoking (and specifically cigars because for me they are much worse than cigarettes), I think you really need to make sure they know ahead of time. I would be super disappointed and honestly pretty upset if I got all dressed up and excited for a wedding and then had to leave (potentially headed home not feeling well). Way worse if people travel to be there!

If you want to do it, that's fine, just make sure people know what they are in for.

That seems a little high but for how many people etc? I paid $350 then $5 a cigar and people smoked on the deck. People did love it and we got cute pics of my husband rolling his own.
