Church wedding/ranch reception

Melanie, on August 25, 2019 at 4:43 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 4
I’m having a church wedding .

That being said, I only see going from a church to a hall not a ranch.

Am I being too picky?

I'm not sure I understand. A lot of people get married in church and then have their reception at all types of venues afterwards. I got married in a church and had my reception at the Fairmont. If you want to have your reception at a ranch then go for it. Your wedding ceremony doesn't dictate where your reception will be as long as they are not too far apart from each other. The general rule is within 30 minutes of each other.

I agree with PP. It's totally fine to have your ceremony and reception in different venues if they aren't too far apart!

Mine was also at a different venue. People will be fine with it as long as it's not horribly far away.

One of my cousins got married in a church and then had the reception in a barn. My SIL is getting married in a church and having the reception in my in-laws backyard. It’s all your decision!
