Choosing Our Cake!

Michelle, on April 10, 2022 at 10:05 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 2 5
Hello! I know this seems like such a trivial decision in the big picture of the wedding, but I am having such a hard time choosing between 2 wedding cake vendors. I have tasted both, and here are my pros and cons for each:
Cake vendor #1:
-Tasted the best -More affordable BUT-Does not offer dairy-free and eating dairy usually gives my headaches-Not as cute designs Cake vendor #2:-Gorgeous designs -Accommodates any food sensitivities BUT-More pricey -Flavors were decent but not as tasty as the other
Advice needed please!Thanks : )

Hey Michelle! I guess which is more important to you? Is it look over taste? Is it the ability to have dairy free options? Is it budget?
I personally would go with the first one, but I don't have a dairy sensitivity. And my most important things are taste & budget, so vendor #1 ticks both of my boxes!

Can you keep looking? But if its between those 2 options I wouldn't get a cake that may make you feel ill after eating it even if the price is right. Good luck!

Hey Michelle you want your guess to love everything from visionary to enjoy themselves and food is a big Item. So you have to say to yourself do I want too go over budget for a cake that looks great we all want that but taste really matters. But I will with cake#1 budget friendly unless some will buy you another cake with out diary. now you also mentioned that you have a sensitive stomach with dairy so can you take something for your head and stomach before you both cut the cake. I would modify if my guest hate the cake and then its them same cake that you will have to celebrate your first anniversary with.

While you do want a pretty cake, guests prefer and remember the taste. They do remember if the cake is awesome or terrible but they can’t tell you what it looks like. How many guests need to be accommodated with dairy free? Just you or the entire guest list? Ask on the Facebook local wedding groups if there is another bakery in your area that accommodates dairy free for a smaller cake for those who can’t eat the regular.

I would choose the second option if you have food sensitivities. Nothing like feeling uncomfortable on your wedding day. You want to enjoy the desserts too so I think if it's in your budget or worth the extra price, I'd say go for the second option but maybe you can look around more for more bakery places that might be less expensive and can have dairy-free/vegan options.
