Choosing Mascara

Not sure how much it costs considering I only bought it once, but Better Than Sex waterproof mascara is SERIOUSLY waterproof. Just make sure you get the blue tubed one with little water droplets on it, not the original pink one (that one isn't waterproof).

That's a bit much, for me -- but if people are swearing by it and more than one person recommends, I might just deal and get it. Lol. Who knows, maybe I can wear mascara for awhile and get my money's worth.

Totally agree! Better than Sex Mascara is the best and worth the money! I have cried HARD and that stuff stays on!!!

I hear ya, I can't buy any makeup over $10 without cringing But I swear it's so worth it, it lasts you a long time too cause it's such a big tube.

I love tarte's Gifted Amazonian smart clay mascara! I first got it as a free trial, and tried other things before coming back to this. Tarte sells a travel size version for $12. The full size version is $23 at Sephora/Ulta.

Review

Just wanted to say, whatever makeup you do end up getting, especially if you’re not a make up wearer in general I recommend doing a trial on yourself before the wedding AND wearing it all day. I have really sensitive eyes so sometimes I feel fine when I put makeup on but then an hour or so later my eyes start killing me. So if you’re not used to makeup definitely wear it around for the day to make sure you don’t react badly to any of the products you’re using, and if you do, then you can try a different one!

I know you're not big on makeup but you may want to look into false lashes. They have so many too chose from so I'm sure you can find a very natural looking pair. You won't have to worry about mascara running and false lashes can be even cheaper than a tube of mascara. As for applying them they have a ton of youtube videos to make it easy. Good luck!

Milani mascara (you can get it at Target) is around $10 and it’s what i’ll be using for my wedding day! it’s amazing and works so so well

I also have sensitive eyes and the only mascara I can use is call BLIC. Is also waterproof and they have two different ones. I recommend to get your make up at Sephora because they have a great return policy so you can actually test them at home and then return it.

LOVE this mascara! It's a little bit pricey, but it is so worth it. They do sell a sample version for $15 if you want to save $10. It is definitely waterproof, but it doesn't get flakey, and is relatively to wipe off with makeup remover so you won't be ripping your eyelashes out at the end of the night. HIGHT recommend this mascara!!

Essence lash princess now comes in waterproof. Under $10

So many great suggestions and ways to save money, I super appreciate everyone's input. Honestly, I like the idea of variety and personal experience. Last thing I like doing is going off the word of a company, haha. Some firsthand experience is what I like to go off of and I definitely have gotten a ton of ideas from this.

I did see the Better Than Sex mascara at Marshall’s the other day for $12. I didn’t look to see if they had the waterproof, but it’s worth a shot!
