I like that idea. We met in March. We talked about our anniversary being our date since she proposed on that day also. I personally wanted to separate the two.

I always wanted a fall October wedding. However, the last few years October has become a very popular month to get married. I have a lot of family and friends who got married in October. I know this sounds kind of petty but due to the popularity I decided not to get married in October lol. I live in Southern California and I didn't want a summer wedding because it gets too hot and its peak wedding season so usually more expensive. So that left spring and winter. I, personally, am not into the idea of a spring wedding. When I think of spring weddings I think of florals, pastels, lighter colors, etc which is not my thing. So I went with a winter December wedding. I prefer the darker color palette of winter and its not as common and since its off season its less expensive.

Growing up, I always dreamed of having an October wedding. I love fall. Then as my FH and I got serious, I initially started thinking about July dates because I’m a teacher and have more time in the summer, but when I decided I really wanted an outdoor ceremony, my FH urged for October for things to cool down. We went with Oct 24 to be as late into October as we could for more fall colors to develop in our area, and not be on Halloween. Also, we’re only having a minimoon. I’ll miss school on Friday and Monday.

Trust me I’m the same way that’s partially why we chose September because I love the darker colors. Our original date was September 25th but then when we decided not to because that’s my parents who now divorced anniversary so we wanted to do our own date. Then we decided to elope instead but still wanted to have a reception but picking a date has been hard for us

We were stuck between September and oct because we loved the colors in that time of season. But we thought maybe get married during pride month since that represents the big leap that we are actually able to get married legally now!

We picked October because we are Fall fanatics! November was also considered but we didn’t want it to be too close to his birthday or around Thanksgiving. We picked Sunday 10/10/21 because my venue was cheaper for Sunday events and we just loved the whole perfect 10/10 concept.

We were originally going to be married this past May, but I got into grad school and our original date would've been in the middle of finals. I wanted to do the fall, but my husband said he didn't want to wait longer to be married (🥰) so I figured out that Leap Day was on a Saturday this year which happens very infrequently. My dream venue had it available! I think it's a pretty cool date. And we really lucked out because it was right before the country shut down. Very grateful and happy overall

We worked with family schedules, venue availability, and personal preference. Date picking is just a mix of what is important to you and what would impact that.

I originally wanted to get married on our anniversary, because it fell on a Saturday.

However, that Saturday was a day when my ILs were traditionally out of the country, it was less than 6 1/2 months from when we got engaged, and it just didn't work out.

So we picked a date 6 weeks later and made it happen.

We haven't 100% set on a date yet but we know we want a fall wedding, I want September 21st because I love the song September by Earth, Wind and Fire but we shall see what our venue has available once we figure out a year.

My husband and I chose our date based on mainly my work schedule. My husband works for an eye doctor and works Monday-Friday, but I work in the contracts department of a timeshare company and my busy season starts in the middle of March and it doesn't slow down until right before Christmas. During my busy season I can work 6 or 7 days a week, and sometimes I work 15-20 days straight before a day off depending on business needs. Because of my work's usual busy season, we had a very small window to work with - of course we chose our date before COVID-19 happened and my usual busy season hasn't been as busy b/c of it. Anyway, we decided on getting married in February b/c of the expectation of the beginning of my busy season being in March. We ended up settling on our date - February 29th; leap day, because we wanted our wedding date to be unique and it just so happened that this year was a leap year. Even though our true anniversary will only be every 4 years, we plan on celebrating March 1st on non-leap years and every 4th year we plan on taking a two week vacation for our anniversary.

That was cool way of thinking of your date & the June month is cool also for that reason great dates.. I went with Aug because I love summer.. but My fav # is 8 my fiancé's day of birth is 8, it took him 8 yrs to ask me & my favorite basketball player # was 8 so we went with 8.8.20 and covid showed up and so we decided 8.8.21.
