Chocolate Brown Dress

Adria, on July 3, 2012 at 11:03 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 25

Help..My bridesmaids will be wearing a chocolate brown dress and I am having the hardest time finding a chocolate shoe that does not look like it belongs to my grandmother, or one that does not look like they are about to go stand on a street corner...Any suggestions? I need them to be less than 4 inches tall and I would like to have a strap that goes around the ankle, more like a sandal.

Have you considered a dyeable? Better selection, perfect match.

I absolutely love the dress for the girls, but finding the shoe has become the bain of my existance....I guess I will just keep the search going..Maybe I will delegate this task to my maid of honor and release some of my stress...

Dsw and zappos both have a few (depending on your BMs budget)

I have considered a dyeable which may be the route I have to take but I was trying to save the girls as much money as possible...Unfortunately, they may have to spend a little more than expected.

Getting them dyed is very cheap. People worry so much about that but it's like $20 bucks. Sometimes less than that.

I have feared dyeables since my 8th grade social when they turned my feet green..it took forever for my feet to get back to normal lol....but I am pretty sure it's improved since "94 LOL

Why chocolate brown shoes? you can't dress them up with a colored shoe to match your other wedding colors? That's what i didn't with my MOH and BM...my MOH wore a tangerine shoe and my BM wore a fuchsia shoe....it looked amazing and I got tons of compliments on it.

Also, dying shoes isn't really that expensive...I believe my MOH dyed her shoes for $7.50

Gold shoes look really great with brown dresses and lots of gorgeous styles are available in a lot of price ranges. Just a thought.

Yes, I think a neutrel color is a good idea. I am also have chocolate brown dresses for my bridesmaids, and asked them to get neutrel colored shoes to wear. They are all different heights (from 5'2" to 5'11"), so I'm letting them pick the size heel/shoe they want to wear.

My girls are also wearing a chocolate brown dress with a persimmon sash. I had them go to Davids Bridal and pick out any dyable shoe they wanted (they have a great selection) and had them dyed Persimmon. They came out GREAT! Best part after the wedding you can dye them again to ny color you want, my girls loved that. shoes range from $30-$50 and to get them dyed is $4 bucks!
