Chicken Dish

OctoberBrideeee, on March 6, 2017 at 4:17 PM Posted in Planning 0 22

Hello WW! I need your help choosing a chicken dish, literally any Italian chicken dish you like and would enjoy at a wedding. They have endless options to chose from.

Cocktail hour will include -

Caprese skewers

Meatball skewers

Dinner buffet-

Tossed Green Salad

Caesar Salad

Bread with tomato butter

Pasta with a choice of 3 different sauces (Alfredo, Creamy tomato, & Meat sauce)

Chicken TBA

We still have plenty of time to change this menu which is great. Any changes you would make, things you would add, I would love to hear.

I'd add a few more things to cocktail hour if possible. The last wedding I was at only had two things and it wasn't all that exciting.

Maybe chicken marsala or chicken piccata. I love both of those. Is there a way to have any seafood or meat?

Chicken piccata is my favorite. Chicken parm would also make me happy.

I would go with a non-tomato chicken - if someone doesn't like tomatoes, they're really limited if you go wth a tomato based chicken.

It's hard though because I think chicken Marsala is pretty stigmatizing with the mushrooms, and I'm not sure what would go with red sauce, but not be red sauce based. Maybe a stuffed chicken?

@Mrs Sullivan - We were thinking of adding a anti pasta platter to cocktail hour, or fruit tray. As for adding a red meat, I was worried some guests won't enjoy it. Chicken always seems like a safe option and seafood was out of our budget unfortunately.

@Pumpkin Chicken parm is always good!!

Everyone will eat Picatta, but it's kinda dull....same with Marsala. I'd personally do Saltimbocca (with prosciutto, sage and a lemon butter) or stuffed with something like spinach mousse or sundried tomato/olive mousse.

I'd add a beef or a seafood and cut down on the pasta choices.

We had marsala and it went over well! It's one of those chicken dishes that everyone, usually, loves.

I like chicken without any sort of cheese as I am mildly lactose intolerant, but I know we are a semi-rare breed Smiley smile

Anything Celia recommended. Especially that prosciutto/sage/lemon butter dish- that sounds awesome.

ETA: And for apps I would do some bruschetta or something, you could do a couple varieties.

Antipasto sounds like a good addition to cocktail hour. Maybe just a plain herb roasted chicken that can go with any pasta? I am a fan of chicken parm myself.

I love chicken parm and chicken marsala. But I can def get behind the sage/lemon/prosciutto suggestion. That sounds unique and delicious.

I don't have an opinion on the chicken, as I'm vegetarian, but depending on your guests, it might be appreciated to have another vegetable or a vegetarian entree that isn't pasta.

This is why I love WW so much!

I'm thinking chicken piccata will be the one and definitely going to add another anti pasta to our apps.

    Another vote for chicken piccata.

Stuffed mushrooms might be a good app that goes with food theme.
