Chicago late June weddings postponing??

Daniela, on April 8, 2020 at 10:57 AM Posted in Illinois Planning 0 6
Hey beautiful brides to be!
My wedding is June 27 and I am still moving forward as planned but do have a backup date set next year! I do not want to get married next year but all Saturdays are basically taken! I am wondering what everyone is deciding and or what is the cut off date you are making a final decision. I’m getting married in Chicago so I would love to hear from fellow Chicago June brides and their actions plans?? Thanks

Fellow June 27th wedding here! We decided that we are going forward with it until an executive order or something else makes it impossible or if the situation is really bad still end of May. We have a backup date for December just in case.

I’m from Chicago! I think at this point it truly depends on if our shelter in place continues. There’s a strong possibility it can and will, unfortunately! Two of my friends who had June weddings postponed to August & July. It really truly depends on what happens when we hit May 1st!

Hello from a Chicago bride - was May 9 - now who knows. My guy works at Rush Hospital. My guesstimate is that we will be open for business by early June. I do think it will bother some and they may not attend. Others my be ready to have something to look forward to.

We put a hold with our venue and vendors for the same weekend next year. We want to wait until May to make the call, but will be getting married legally this year regardless..and may just be postponing the celebration until 2021.

My wedding date is 6/6/2020 and we are keeping everything as it is, praying the quarantine will be lifted in May. We are having people rsvp online so if we have to reschedule we can email them the new date. I am not a fan of having to send out so many cards, and having to keep up with that so doing everything online is much easier... to me.

We just made the decision to postpone our June 27, 2020 wedding in Chicago to June 25, 2021. After reading the “Opening Up America Again” guidelines recently released, and seeing states begin to extend stay at home policies, we knew we wouldn’t be able to have more than 10 people, and likely won’t have 50+ for months...if ever this year. Like many of you, I was agonizing my decision to either wait it out, move to October, or move a full year. But now that everything is finalized I feel so much better and know we made the right choice for us and that we will hopefully have the wedding (and wedding activities) that we've so been looking forward to. Good luck to all those currently waiting it out, I so feel for you.
