My friends have started planning my bachelorette party in Chicago. We are all coming from MI, which is only about a 2.5 hour drive, and my bff emailed everyone saying it would cost them each $200 for room and a trolley to carry our booze and drive us from bar to bar. I've done the same trip already twice with other friends as the bride, and we only spent $100 each, and although I'm so grateful that I have such awesome bridesmaids, I feel bad that it's going to be so expensive for my friends, if they choose to come. I know I am not supposed to plan the party, but I thought if they asked me for ideas, I could give them some less expensive ideas or ways to cut costs for all.
Anyone know of any nice (semi) inexpensive hotels?
Any other suggestions as to bars or any activities we can do? We'll be there in June for most of the day on a Saturday and the night, and then coming home on Sunday.
