Does anyone care what type of chairs they have at their reception?

Chiavari chairs do look beautiful, but not enough to sacrifice comfort and $$$. I don't like chair covers but that's what my venue had so we went with them. They were comfortable and once people are sitting at the table, you really don't notice the chairs at all anyway.

I'm guilty of renting chiavari chairs.. The banquet ones were just too fugly for me. Unfortunately they cost an arm and a leg, and even if no one else notices... I will notice lol

I honestly do care. Especially because from all the wedding photographs I looked at, I always noticed if the chairs were ugly! It was a factor in my venue choice because I knew I was going to rent chairs if the ones that came with the venue were ugly. And I don't chair covers. Sorry to anyone who likes them but they just look too old school for me.

My venue has chivari chairs that are actually very comfortable with super awesome padded seats. But they're not always comfortable, so trend with caution. I think the resin chairs are pretty too though - a bit more informal but still blend nicely and don't stick out like an ugly, 1980s-banquet hall sore thumb Smiley winking

I hate chair sleeves and I personally think that chairs are very important part of the decor. I was very willing to pay the minimal extra cost for the chiavari chairs.

We are upgrading to silver chiavari chairs. The alternative are the ugle metal ones with a chair cover and sash, and I absolutely hate that look.

I think both options have their pros and cons. Chiavari chairs definitely have a more classic and elegant look, while resin chairs seem more practical, especially for outdoor events. For me, comfort and stability would probably matter more than appearance when making the final choice.
