Charleston VS Myrtle Beach - honeymoon question

So FH and I knew that because of waiting for my Visa paperwork to finish (I'm from Canada, now in Oklahoma) that we wouldn't be able to leave the country right after the wedding for our honeymoon. The plan was to do New Orleans for a few days and then do a Mexico honeymoon when I had my permanent resident card. But now FH found out that there is a work conference in Greenville, SC the week after the wedding that he needs to be at so rather than me staying home alone I'm going with him (which I have done before). So since we will be in SC already, we are thinking of mini-mooning there before we come home. Now we have been to Charleston before and I LOVE it there (seriously I would move there so fast) but Myrtle Beach also looks wonderful and we have been wanting to go there as well. Any suggestions? pros or cons? Anything that we should check out on either of those areas?

Thanks WW!

Charleston! I'm not a fan of MB. You could also consider Hilton Head - never been, but people love it.

Charleston is probably more cost effective, since Myrtle Beach is a very touristy place.

And, isn't Puerto rico part of US? you COULD go there....

Check out Savannah - not too far away from Charleston, and it's New Orleans' sister city. Definitely not Myrtle.

@Julie- Chas is definitely NOT cheaper than MB- the other way around. You pay for the historical downtown, the views, and how its been voted #1 in the US several times. However, a) its totally worth it and b) there are plenty of places to stay that are close to downtown, but cheaper. While Kiawah is nice, its also not cheap. I love Sullivan's Island and Isle of Palms- about 20 min from dwtn.

Savannah is also a.beautiful historical city about 2 hrs from Chas. We joke that its Charleston Light, but its also got a lot to offer. History, culture, easier walking than Chas, Tybee Island, shopping along the river. Its also a great option. Possibly a bit cheaper than Chas, but has a similar vibe.

Whoever mentioned MB as a Bach party spot vs Chas as a HM had it spot on as far as vibes.
