CHARGERS!!

Jessiec, on September 14, 2016 at 11:43 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 16

Hey everyone! I am looking into my rentals and renting gold chargers is almost $200. Has anyone used plastic chargers? What are your opinions about plastic vs glass chargers from the rental company.

That's a tough one. Are the chargers really important to you? Is there something other than chargers you could use to dress up the table with that costs less than $200? I went through the same thing with chairs and in the long run decided that nobody is going to remember the chairs just like I am sure nobody is going to remember chargers. I would save your money for the honeymoon.

Have you checked out wedding recycle websites? You might be able to either rent them or buy them for cheaper if it's something you really want

How many do you need? Michaels has really nice chargers for like 2 dollars each and then you can just get one of their online coupons. No one will remember the centerpieces or even really look to see if they're plastic vs. real so that was what I was going to go with until we decided no chargers at all.

Dollar tree has plastic ones. I think Hobby Lobby also has them on sale

We aren't using chargers, I am using gold doilies and clear plates.

I bought the dollar tree chargers @Cynthia is talking about. They sell them in cases of 24. They come in silver and gold. They're a little thin, but honestly, I think it was a good deal. Not only can I paint them if I want, but I have the flexibility to sell them after the wedding.

I bought dollar store ones as well. we're going to paint them but also don't really have to worry about glass vs plastic being an issue because they're only being used in centerpieces to hold foam pumpkins lol

I really wanted them and was glad I did them. The tables looked so put together. BUT, I only paid $0.75 each (& only needed 55).

@Jessiec - how many guests do you have? That $200 could be really cheap or super expensive depending on the quantity you need!

Chargers through my rental company are $3 each

Ok, I didnt know if anyone went to a wedding and saw the plastic ones and thought they looked cheap or made a difference. The chargers from the rental place are $4 a piece.

BTW, mine were plastic (didn't realize it until I picked them up), but they were fine.

Ugh. I am skipping the chargers for this reason, even though I love them.

Dumb question....but what exactly is the charger for? Is it just for looks? We haven't gone over our table settings with our designer so I have absolutely no idea lol.

I ordered plastic gold chargers and they are actually much nicer than I expected.
